Currently writing a comparison list, need help regarding components

Hi there,

Im currently writing a comparison list in excel (in german unfortunaly, but I can publish it) and Im having trouble differentiating between lower and higher end components, since Im lacking knowledge in the MTB sec.

For starters, many people or mountainbikers prefer a oneby drivetrain over a 2 or 3 by.
But for example the most high end SDURO Fullseven 10.0 has a 20 gears where the 9.0 has a oneby with 11 gears.
Hard to decide which is better for me.

I did the test on shimanos website to see which one fits me better and up to 80% it calculates a 2by for me, so the 20 gear version.

If I want to go with a 2by, Im pretty much forced to take a yamaha PW-X, since bosch does not offer a 2by.

Another thing is, front and rear suspension which is "better": RockShox Monarch LT or the RockShox Deluxe RT?

The rest of the components is pretty much alike or its easy to see which one is higher end or rather, its just a preference between the Bosch Perfomance CX or the Yamaha PW-X (I guess it depends on what you like more, the yamaha offers 5nm more torque).

I never understood Haibike's preference for 2x drivetrains (on an ebike... why?), nor do I really understand the desire for 11 gears on the derailleur. Personally I think the higher gears on those derailleurs can be safely removed in favor of a thicker chain (if only we could use 3/16 chains!) because you might not actually use them much -- depends on how hilly an area you live in.

As I write in other topics, it is much more economical to buy the cheapest configuration (e.g., FullSeven LT 4.0 with the Suntour suspension), remove all the components from the bike, repaint the bike and then add the components you want. There are so many benefits to this -- being able to choose ridiculously good paints and lacquer, choice of aftermarket components (e.g., DVO, Cane Creek, etc.) and an incremental upgrade path that doesn't force your hand.

Odds are you'll spend way, way more on the bike in the long term. For example, you might want Rohloff, a 27.5+ Fox 34 on the front, Cane Creek rear shock. You'll probably end up redoing your wheels complete, possibly getting pretty aftermarket ones from CB or similar.

I appreciate your answer.
Still I decided to go with the Allmtn 9.0 because it has all the components I´ll propably need and there is no need to change anything on that bike to fit it to my liking.

Your described route may be better for the money, but not if you calculate in the work required to do all that.

I´ll be pretty content getting this bike, setting the suspensions up and riding it.

I like the 11 gears, because I have currently a 1x7 setup and thats not enough gears for my liking, by far.
1x11 (depending on the translation of the gears) may fit my taste way better.

I´ll testride it and see how the quality is.

Im not a spoiled rider, currently riding a rad power bikes radrhino with only 80mm front no-name spring suspension.
So switching to a fully with those components, I should be pretty content for at least a few years.
