Converting a Motobecane Elite Adventure 500W BBS-02

I just received confirmation that my 2 kits 500W and 750W BBS-02 mid-drives have been shipped. I wanted to build a mid-drive ebike to compare the performance to the rear hub geared Easy Motion Carbon I bought. Torque sensor vs. Pedelec. I'll update the build when I receive the motors. I've decided to use the 500W kit on this bike, and based on the result I'll use the 750W on my next build.

I decided on mounting the battery box on the down-tube using the water bottle fasteners. Since the battery is 15 lbs. I added the aluminum yoke located at the "E" fastened to the bottom aluminum plate for added security and machined all the aluminum plate to mill out unnecessary portions of the plate that reduced the weight of the box. I wish I had a 3D printer.....

Nice Al case.!!
what kind of controller are you planning to use?

I heard that new BBS02 are coming with 25A and 9FET controllers.
I hope you're getting the new ones. Did you purchase from em3ev?

It helps to have a fully capable machine shop on site. I'm not overly thrilled with the shape, but to get a 15AH battery you end up with a "brick". If I had a 3D printer I'd design and build my own battery from the base components up. I haven't been able to find a battery source that sells mountable boxes that are appealing for bike conversions. Only custom builders, or the already known bikes with integrated battery systems do it right from an aesthetics standpoint.

They are the new 9 FET boards....the delivery was delayed for 3 weeks because the new version controller kits were unavailable when I ordered them. No I didn't buy them form em3ev.

3D printer would be ideal in that case. Potentially, you could print your own custom racks, crank arms, etc.

The most aesthetically appealing bags I have seen for carrying stuff/battery storage is Additive Bags. Next comes, em3ev's triangle bags.

Awesome...!
Could you share the vendor info?
Very few people carry this 25A, 9FET system.

Now the "fun" begins....motors arrived today; 500W on the left 750W on the right. Should have the installation complete by Thursday!!!!
Awesome setup, thanks for sharing the images and keeping us up to date Court. I want to echo what @Ravi Kempaiah was asking, where did you buy the motor from?
