Converted my Haibike Cross to a Dura Ace Road Bike

@Goodair, nice setup. I'm interested in your Dura Ace 1x setup. Building an electric folding bike and was going to setup with Shimano 105 5800 2x11 but since SRAM came out with 1x I was going to ditch the Shimano setup. Can you post a photo of the drivetrain or describe what you used to get the Dura Ace working. Would greatly appreciate it.

I am currently using a FSA 104BCD 44T chainring, the rear is a 11-28T, that gear ratio is plenty for hills in the So Cal area. I have climbed 12% grade with no issue. What I do lack is top end speed, currently it is capped at 20 mph, for road that is really slow. I have a 50T front, but waiting for my speedbox, with an uncapped motor, I think the 50T with 11-32T can pretty much handle any situation.

Saw somewhere that it works with Yamaha motors to fix the magnet to the end of the crank arm and move the sensor to the outside of the chainstay. Not sure what it does to the readout but apparently adds speed.

I think the software upgrade defeated the mod, tried it, but did not work.

Are you using a Wolftooth Roadlink adapter for the rear derailleur or just the dura ace derailleur by itself? Is the front chainring wide narrow? I heard of dura ace derailleur being able to handle bigger 11-32/36 and higher cassettes but with adapters.

That thing looks awesome! I own a Haibike too, I was thinking of selling it and getting a roadbike and a conversion kit (I mostly use it for commuting 30miles to work). a few questions regarding your bike:

1. You put a larger chainring on it, does it work alright? The man from Haibike told me that doing that would confuse the computer.

2. how much do you reckon you spent converting it? I know you said you had most of the components in your garage already but what would you estimate the cost was?

View attachment 16400 Aside from the Giant E1, there are really no road bikes out there, I had to do the conversation myself. This thing is fast, my range on Conti 700c 28mm is about 70 miles with climbing, not bad for a road bike. Front chainring is now a 44t FSA, 1X11 setup with Dura Ace rear derailleur, Shimano RS505 brake levers.
