Hello, I want to buy a bike for poor displays, a few places counting that you want: would like to change to: do they fit together or not?

I would like to change it to this:

do they match plug and play or not?

Just don't be too discouraged if/when they play stupid.....

This is what usually happens when one buys form mailorder and not from a LBS.

You'd think they won't make that mistake again, but sadly low price trumps over common sense :)

I wouldn't be so smug regarding "common sense". Because YOU chose to go that way, for whatever reason, doesn't make one bit of difference to me when I'm making the call. There is no right or wrong here, only what works for you.

Some of us are clever enough, and experienced enough, to do quite well - without having to pay top dollar at a LBS - for a new bike, or patching a tire for that matter. No waiting for weeks to get our bike serviced either.

I can make a pretty good case for going either way, or for building my own. It depends on the individual. For instance, I'm sure there are some that are much smarter than I am, but they'd rather not get their hands dirty.

I'm from Poland so I have very limited purchasing options ...
Honestly, there's little chance that the displays will interchange. Even if the plugs on each match exactly and the new one powers up, there is a very good chance the new control won't be able to communicate with the controller. A LOT of research would need to go into that swap to be able to predict if it would work or not.

OK,

Here in Minnesota under the shadow of St. Stanislaus Basilica. I’d be willing to give you a hand up. There’s a prominent poster here, also Polish. I’m surprised we’ve not heard from him. A clearer understanding of your issues may be lost in the translation. I’ll message him .

In my experience, there's no ebike company that would recommend, suggest or okays replacing anything with aftermarket parts.
THIS. When we respond with statements like “in my experience” and that hands on experience is rather limited, aren’t we being disingenuous? I’m not mounting an ad hominem assault. You’re the guy I’d hire to be an AliExpress buyer. Any LBS would benefit by your search results.

Parochial education. K-12.
Can debate whether anal retention is hyphenated, for hours.

I don't ever use "in my experience" to pretend I'm a pro. And that was not my intention.
Maybe some people do, I don't.
Agreed. I didn’t mean to imply you did. You’re very helpful and patient and calmer than me.

recommend
You’re right. I don’t see them making a recommendation either. But a conversation by email or better yet a phone call might shed more light than we can. Sadly I’ve taken this completely off the rails.
I’m still learning.

some fixes need Sherlock Holmes style due diligence. I’d bet armed with more information you could find an answer.
OK I’ll STFU or someone will suggest we get a room.

🤭

I'm using a translator as you can see.

I know what I bought is a Chinese bike of not the highest quality, I know it well.

RAD bikes are not sent to Poland and the other company can send them from aliexpress, but you have to add customs duty and it is too expensive
