Can I add 12"?

I have been changing items around on my Wart Hog MD 750 E Bike,
added front basket, raised the handle bar heights and
I don't like how tight the brake lines are when turning sharp corners,
lines bind of the front basket.
I need about 12-18 inches added to have enough slack
for the turning radius of the front wheel.

Can I add this amount of brake lines, to the existing lines,
or do I need to add completely new lines, front and back?
I have this type of OEM brakes:
Tektro HD-E725 4 Piston Hydraulic 203 mm Rotor. Power Cut Off Function.

Your thoughts and suggestions............

Don

Yes, you could buy a pair of couplers, a length of hose. and new fittings for both levers, Now you have six new joints that could potentially leak,
.
I bet a 2 meter textro long hose for the rear is a lot cheaper at $30. Then you move the old rear hose to the front caliper, and shorten it. You'll need a new fitting, about $2, Both approaches require bleeding,
.
Talk to a bike shop if you want them to do it.

If you have hydraulic brakes then you don't have cables.

Thanks Guys
Well there is a bigger problem looming on the horizon.

The back brake line is fed thru all the main internal channels of the bikes frame.
Is there a way to thread this back brake line thru the channels and the right frame stays?

I can see a big headache coming on..........

new line to the end of the old line
I do the same thing. But I use adhesive shrink tube.

Unless you are highly skilled with hydraulic brakes, just have a bike shop take care of it. Having a bike shop in your area is a good thing, that is worthy of supporting and it will be done right.

For a quick snake through, adhesive isn't necessary unless navigating tight radius or an irregular path

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

I pulled my battery cable out and wanted to be able to pull it back in, so I attached a length of wire to the cable before I pulled it out.

I didn't want to get my connector all glued up.
I'd just use a longer piece of normal shrink tube if I needed more grip.

I use a piece of cable in the butted joint. Mostly I am doing runs for the first time when building. For that I run a brake cable with a slight curve on the end and guide it with magnets. Then I pull using adhesive shrink tube.

Hey Pedal
Can you explain HOW you guide it with magnets, when most bikes are made from Alum?? Slightly confused here.........
I have done lots of standard 4x4 wheel brakes also on MC and 4x4 off road play toys,
so I am not concerned about hydraulic bike brakes.
Tia,

One end has a loop that can be twisted, the other a slight hook. Measure the length, insert and twist, extracting with a magnet.

Ok, I can see that working with metal brake cables,
But what about the plastic brake lines,
last time I checked plastic and magnets don't stick together?

That is only the fishing line. What you attach to it is up to you. You can even feed it thru a plastic housing.

What is the vernacular term for this device? Hint, it contains the word donkey and could even be decorated for March Madness.
