Brake sensors

I purchased the optional brake sensors from Paul so I could keep my original V rim brake handles. It would appear they sense the brake cable moving when applying brakes and cut motor power. I am unsure where to put the units, right up against the brake lever or down by the rim brake assembly. Maybe it makes no difference but I note the attached plug and play sensor cable is quite long. Makes me think they go are the brake assembly rather then the lever with a lot of cable to find a home for. I welcome your experience.

Funny because the ones I've looked at are NC (normally closed) reed switches that require a magnet in the lever. BTW the long leads could mean the connections are deep in the frame, like the bottom bracket or motor. I'll be interested to see what you discover. -S

I have these and have used them on two bikes now. The first install was on my Bacchetta Giro 20 ATT and now they on my Giant OCR 1. So in one install they where used with a front disc brake and now with a front caliper brake. In both cases they are mounted at the brake caliper end, not that I can see it making a difference given their mode of operation.

I found this after extensive search. For my application it appears I need to make a new cable run with a gap in the outer jacket where the sensor will be fit.

That is what I am using. I thought this was what Paul is selling as well? All you do is shorten the outer cable at one end.
