in the manual for the bengal ares 3 brakes it does not show any use of the springs, I purchased some new pads from EBC and the shape is round, opposed to the original ones which have a rounded top and bottom and flat sides, I have not put them in yet but the local mechanic screwed up my spring in the rear and it is really loose, and I noticed the manual for the brakes does not show this spring, are they even needed?

The spring, or in rare instances a magnet is necessary to keep the pads from riding on the rotor and wearing the pads out and heating up the rotors, thereby damaging them. Many designs are often copied from one manufacturer to another. Tektro copied Shimano on some of their models, so pads are interchangeable. If you post pictures of the brake calipers, rotors, pads and spring someone might recognize them and have a suggestion. I've seen a lot of brake systems and never heard of Bengal brakes. Doesn't necessarily mean I or someone hasn't seen the pads. Good luck.

the new pad don't have the slot for the springs anyway so wondering if they just are magnetic
The calipers would have to have the magnet. If the originals had a spring, replacements would have to have a spring. Magnetic calipers are rare and on expensive systems.
