Battery won't charge new bike

I'm new to this forum so hello to all you ebike owners. I purchased a rattan Challenger Pro with I-Pas technology. Received bike and assembled bike. While I was doing that I had plugged my battery in to charge. But the light stayed green on the charger. So I touch the battery indicator lights on the battery it says fully charged. When I plugged the battery on the bike and turned on my LCD screen it showed a full battery. So I went through the initial setup with the LCD screen. Road the bike on a paved Road for initial test everything seemed fine. I I did some fine-tuning when the pedal assist adjustment. Went back out to ride everything function fine later that evening I take it for a ride get about a hundred yards away from my house in the battery indicator on my LCD screen started dropping dramatically to the point where it was flashing saying that battery basically. I stopped the bike and test the battery push button indicator and it says I'm only lost one light so basically I have 70 to 75% of the battery remaining. So I shut down the LCD screen cutting the bike off waited a few seconds powered it back on it showed three-quarters of a battery on my LCD screen so I start and drive away a hundred yards later it starts to do same thing rapidly drops and then starts flashing basically saying zero battery power on this LCD screen. The bike still functions when the LCD screen indicator is telling me the battery is empty. Here's the issue I bring it home go to plug in the charger my charger stays green and does not charge the battery. Initially when I got the bike the charger would not plug into the battery I had to call them and wait 4 more days for an adapter to come in the mail. So my battery is not taking a charge. I tested the battery it says 47.5 volts. I tested my charger my charger is fluctuating all over the board it's not pumping 54.6 volts like it should. So you think that would be the issue. I have another charger 48v 3amp charger I test it it's putting out 54.6 volts I plug it into my battery does not change the light over to red it stays green and will not charge my battery. This charger I take it in the other room plug it into another ebike which is a Sonders my roommates bike. And it functions properly and charges that ebike. that same charger will also charge my other friends ancheer when he stops by so I know it works. Just not on my ebike any help out there would be highly appreciated

You may very well have a defective battery or LCD.. I would contact the manufacturer first as it may be a known issue.
As for the charger being all over the place with voltage, this is normal for some chargers as they pulse to awaken the battery BMS. If your battery has a switch, try charging the battery with the switch ON to see if that makes a difference.

You may very well have a defective battery or LCD.. I would contact the manufacturer first as it may be a known issue.
As for the charger being all over the place with voltage, this is normal for some chargers as they pulse to awaken the battery BMS. If your battery has a switch, try charging the battery with the switch ON to see if that makes a difference.

Yeah I contacted the manufacturer with attached files to Rattan and electricbikeParadise.Com where I purchased it but they don't have a brick-and-mortar building so relaying messages between the secretary and the guys in the tech department which is probably in another state is a little bit of an issue but it is what it is they are the ones that sent me the adapter for the charger. I checked my battery I do not have a switch thank you for your input highly appreciated safe riding

Tech guys in China you mean? I'd really be surprised that an on-line seller called electric bike paradise has a tech department.

The battery is very likely built with generic cells or cells less than ideal for the application. I'd very much stay on top of the issue and press for a new battery. Shipping return batteries are expensive and some lowball resellers make it tough. Just be very firm and insistent without any emotional blow outs.

Yeah I've contacted rattan in China by email directly also. 90% of all parts of e-bikes come from China unfortunately anyway no matter where it's put together at. Here in the US or in the UK doesn't matter 90% of Parts come from China. Unless you buy a bike directly from a bike shop because the bike shops will only service bikes that they sell. You pay a premium for that also. But you can take it to be fixed any time though. I live in West Palm Beach County now fortunately we don't have but a couple bike shops which with a very limited selection of bikes. Thanks have a good day

The Rattan Challenger Pro is supposed to come with Samsung batteries that was one of the reasons I purchased this bike. That and the I-pas technology. Supposed to take kinetic energy from breaking and coasting an and convert it back into voltage into the battery. But on the battery I don't see anywhere where it says Samsung so it makes me wonder thanks for your reply

Yeah if you bought it on Amazon where the Christmas reduction sale that's on now. That deal was not available when I purchased this for $950 I know the The Motto you get what you pay for. But not all of us have thousands of dollars to drop on an e-bike I'm disabled on a limited income and this was in my price range of saving money for over a year. Had more money with a person has two different bike that was not the case and you have a good day now

Which says it's just a Hailong type battery which should have a common round 5.5mm charger plug. Shouldn't have needed an adapter.

If you're very careful, you can check the voltage on the charger pin. Maybe you can do it via the adapter. See if you get 48 volts there. Could be a bad connector.

That's the the 1999 model mines 2020 Rattan Challenger Pro model so it's a 48 volt system that uses supposedly Samsung batteries. The one in the photo is a 36 volt system and was advertised with LG style battery from what I read. my charger came with a barrel adapter of 10 mm 2.1 the adapter needed to be stept up to a 10 mm 2.5 to fit the 48 volt battery. I test my charger and it fluctuates all over the with and without the adapter. I I have a second charger which works just fine puts out 54.6 volts. Charges 2 other e bikes. I plugged that charger into my battery the light stays green does not turn red and charge it. I was told that some adapters fluctuate like that to wake up a sleeping battery and once it does and it sets itself two charging the 54.6 volts. I push the battery light indicator says I have three quarters of a battery. I turn on LCD screen the battery bar flashes like it's totally empty.

Have you checked the connection between the battery and the mount? And then to the controller? Possible you may have more than one problem here... But it sounds like a bad battery as it's the common denominator for all the issues.

I see. It's like a laptop charger where you plug in connector heads. I wanted to understand why your Rattan charger has an adapter.

However, a Sondors charger fits your Rattan battery. That means you have the standard 5.5 mm charger socket. But the Sondors charger doesn't work either.

If the battery won't take a charge, the root cause is not important. You need to demonstrate to the seller that the battery won't charge. I predict that he is going to send you a new charger first, because it's a 5 dollar part, Then after you show it doesn't work, he'll have to cough up a battery,
