Back in July 2022 I decided to install John Deer Corn Head grease in my new Bafang Ultra. This photo is what my motor looked like when I opened it in May 2023 after 10 months. I was very pleased with the noise reduction and performance. Grease was well distributed everywhere. I slathered on a few more tablespoons of Corn Head on top of the old grease and closed the motor.
I just opened my motor today after 26 months from the last regreasing in May 2023. The grease is evenly distributed, all the gear surfaces have grease, nice and wet. Performance has been excellent. I could have closed it up and moved on, but I wiped everything down, removed most of the old grease and added new Corn Head grease.
This is the consistency of the grease. Still just like pudding. I rubbed it between my fingers and could not feel any grit. Smooth as silk. All the gears/teeth are in perfect condition.
Contrary to some of the anecdotal comments about Corn Head grease being to liquidy and maybe seeping into the controller chamber, there is no seepage after three years. It is not a concern.
Hope this helps!
YMMV
