Bafang 500C Display Question

I have a Bafang 500C display on an MTB with a BBSHD motor. My downloaded manual for this display appears to show a bar graph on the left side of the display for reading watts under the actual number readout for watts...much like the right hand side of the display showing voltage or charge percentage also with a bar graph.
On mine there I've never seen a bar graph light up under the watts readout. The controller and motor work just fine, but no watts bar graph. Is this something that just shows up in the download manual for this display?...older instructions?...a problem or adjustment in the display? I don't see anything in the display menu showing this as adjustable feature.

Doesn't make sense does it? Seems like if the wattage were reading properly in one place it would in both.

I always have an eye on how much wattage I'm using at any given moment. It's part of a game I play, balancing how much power I'm using against how many miles I get on a charge. I changed to the Bafang 750C for it's ability to show wattage as easily as possible at a glance.

I'd guess that you have a faulty display.
Make a video of it and send it to the vendor as they should send you another or give you a refund for its worth.
I have the 860c which works very well in all light conditions plus has separate buttons so you can center mount the display if you are looking to upgrade.

860c Cheaper on Aliexpress and elsewhere if you are willing to wait for delivery.

Yeah, if there is supposed to be an operating bar graph under the actual watts number under load, then it is weird. I can tell I get what appears to be a good fluctuating watts readout numerically, just not the bar graph underneath. I poked around on the internet to try and see a video or picture of a 500C under load but never found one. The only place I've seen the bar graph is in the picture representations in the manual which aren't actual photos. The two or three actual photos of the unit in the manual are of the unit not under load, so of course there is only a "0w" and no activity in the bar graph. The display works fine otherwise.

The 500C should just show the watts in a graph in real time without any intervention. I have had two bikes with them, one a factory bike (Luna Fixed) equipped with it as standard equipment. If it doesn't something is wrong.

I have seen circumstances where the 500C displays no watts... frankly I forget what they are but they are related to a specific condition and easy to change. Something like no display on the watts if starting up under throttle but pedaling makes it come back or somesuch. I don't ride that bike much anymore and forget exactly what the deal was. I really need to get that bike back up and running so I can sell it so I'll take a look this weekend when I am whipping it back into shape.

Poor video... But this looks to be the 500c display and show the graph

Thanks for that, rocket. Clearly there should be a bar graph. If he'd taken off the protective shipping film, it would have been clearer...LOL! Thanks much.

It's the small details 🤣
If it's new... The vendor should be able to get you sorted out.
