Auto lights on Rize X

For those owning the RX and RX Pro bikes, do your lights really come on automatically from dusk to dawn if you're riding?
I know the rear light on my Rize X bike has the small photo cell window in it like the above mentioned so I'm thinking it must be a small wiring thing to make my lights auto too.

Just food for thought. Why did I decide to purchase a new bike and the temperature here today is -2 deg F. lol.

I believe the controller may have a light-sensor on it, at least that's the case with some of the Bafang models, and you can enable/disable the auto lights on in the menu system.

The display has the light sensor. It works pretty good, turning the lights on every time I pull in to the garage. I switched to a different display, and though the lights still work, the "auto" is gone.

oh well, not worth attempting to upgrade my controller like the RX version. My curiosity has been satisfied. Thanks a bunch
