Anyone else go tubeless on their allant?

I have them around 48 to 50 that seems about right. I had been running 50 on the stock tires for a year. I may have to re tape the rims the rims were cold enough the tape did not stick well and I have a little leakage.

the smaller tire let me use my cafe lock. it was too small to get around the OEM tire. but its really too small for the bike. it is wedged tight on the fender and the mounting holes don't line up with wise and it wont slide back and forth for adjustment. I had to tap it in with a hammer and it wont come off without work so I just used three zip ties to make sure it does not vibrate loose.
there is about 1/8" gap between it and the tire. I did not realize it was that tight till I had the wheel on. taking it off would be a lot of work so when I need to take the wheel off I will see about grinding some of that plastic off. I have two of these locks keyed to my bikes locks so I don't want to have to buy a larger one as it gets really expensive.

ok after maybe 500 or so miles on these tires. I love how they feel. but they offer no protection from punctures at all. I have had a least 5 punctures in the front and maybe a couple less in the back. if they were not tubeless it would be hell. it could be all the gravel still on the roads but who knows? I have had to use two plugs and should have used more.

the lock is wedged in and the fender keeps it in place. I just used some zip ties to make sure it does not jiggle loose. I am using Muc-off. but these tires get so many holes I figure it's a good idea to start plugging them so make the last longer.

I have run through two sets of tubeless GravelKings on my Allant. I really like the tires. No more flats! I carry a puncture plug kit and an electric pump but have not needed to use either. I run at ~40-45psi.

What's the inner width on these rims? I'm about to convert too when I put new tires on.

It took 1250 miles, but I finally caught a flat on the factory tube setup. I wasn't in the best of neighborhoods, so pulled a valve core, dumped in a little bottle of Stan's, and rode back home. That does work with a tube, but not as well as tubeless. I had to top up a couple times. The secret seems to be getting above 30 PSI - then it stops leaking 🤷‍♂️

this looks right.
Alex MD35, tubeless compatible, 32-hole, 35mm width, Presta valve
I would not go below 2" there are not a huge amount of tires to choose from. when I had the originals I had flat out in the tubes after 4000 miles they did not need pumped up anymore. I would find tire hold flat once in awhile so I guess it sealed.

I couldn’t find a tire that wasn’t on the verge of compatibility based on the inner rim width to go tubeless, so instead I went with Tannus Armor. Provides about 0.75” of tread protection and 0.25” sidewall protection. I haven’t noticed a difference in ride quality yet. I’d recommend them if you can’t find tires that you’re happy with to go tubeless.

no way the stock tires were bad enough with the loss of speed and ride quality. the tires I have work well besides being fragile.

well I gave up on the first tires way to puncture prone. not sure how many holes I got in a month and a half because some kept opening up. over 6 per tire though.
So I went with these guys they have a little thicker tread seem as fast not quite as cushy but its close .

As a side note, the Sealant should be refreshed/added-to every 3-4 months.
I recently had 3 morning flats - 2 rear, 1 front. The liquid volume within the tire leaks out as it seals punctures.

Initially I just added air, but then added sealant and have not lost tire pressure since.

ya though muc-off will go longer if you dont run out. Saw a good way to check wit the bike on the stand take the core out and use something a spoke or such like a dip stick to check the level. I also carry a small bottle just in case.
the first tire I tried only one did this it sealed but it was strange. but I got the tire on with no tool and it seated easily the second did not do that butI had to put a tube in there to get it to seat. I guess different batches.
