Any thoughts on the Magura MT4 eSTOP for an upgrade from mechs to hydros?

As above! A mechanic I know suggested these are a great way to get a serious upgrade from cheapy tektro mechanicals, they are about $120 each. Any others I should consider?

Do you need motor cutoff or not? I personally like Shimano brakes since they grab early and well, but I don't know what they have at the $120 each price point.

Let’s say I’m not mechanically minded and would be paying ~$100 for installing anyway. And seeing as they are the same price, would you still recommend?

cutoffs are only for the throttle but almost no levers have them but the lowest end hydro.

yes I found the shimano work much better with metial brake pads a lot quieter then the magura's they also take less hand effort.
