After picking your guys' brains...

Interesting. I have no idea if that shield works and is worth it. The guy here wants 4750 for it. I’m glad you are happy with what you bought, in the end that’s what counts. Enjoy riding!
Doesn't sound too bad depends on what he used it for. Wouldn't want one with 300 miles of this type riding though.

This is a fine bike. We have 3 bikes with the gen 2 motor like yours and they have all been flawless performers. As a bonus you can more easily delimit those motors should you wish to ,after the warranty has expired. https://www.bikespeed.de/RS_en.html
I've thought about doing that and from what I've seen it's activated by using the walk button but mine is activated and gets used on steep unrideable climbs so how does that work?
Any possible damage to the motor or battery as result of using the delimit?

Yes. Saw that.... Does anyone know if odometers can be ‘reset’?

If they can't , they can be changed with a new display😳 and the ebike "tested" for 300miles... This should have been 2.7-3.5kmax. The coating it's easy to diy, 3m clear coat strips or spray.
The bad part is the lack of transferable warranty.

Just expect much faster battery charge consumption, resulting in its faster degradation and far shorter battery range. Regarding the motor: Of course it will be undergoing faster wear, especially if you would pump a lot of watts constantly. The worst of all is possible losing the warranty in case Bosch Bike people detect de-restriction (even if you remove the delimiter before the inspection).

I wonder... 20 mph is a decent speed. Why to derestrict the motor at all? to possibly get just 8 mph more? (In Europe, the assistance limit is 15.5 mph: just fancy that).

Theres someone here selling your bike used, 2nd gen motor, about 300 miles. What would it be worth or don’t bother because the improvements in the 4th gen are so much that spending money on this wouldn’t be clever. By the way, I have looked everywhere, are folks able to hack the odometer? Because why would someone buy a bike like this and ride it only for 300 miles?? Your advice is much appreciated.
There are any number of reasons for folks to buy something and decide to part with it after few miles. I hadn’t ridden my last road bike 100 miles when I parted with it. CN

I rarely need more than 20mph in my all mountain type use exception being jeep roads and paved roads to trail heads. I wouldn't give up the walk mode function if that is something that is required though.

I would add though it seems low 300 miles isn't exactly nothing if it was off road use so maybe it's not that suspicious.
