Adding a Ltd to the fleet

Ordered the LTD today No Tax!

Surprise-no tax. Must be a California thing. I'll update about the 9/10 delivery. I'm adding to the fleet- an Aventon pace 500 and a Wallke X2. I have the large frame Pace 500 and the frame geometry is nearly identical to the Ltd. The seatpost extends as high, the handlebar is the same height, and the reach appears the same. Same weight. This is even though the Ltd is one size fits all and the Pace has 3 sizes. My inseam is 34". The Pace is dependable, fast and comfortable, but no throttle from start gets old. And I want to tryout the torque sensor. Also I was comparing the Ltd to the Juiced CC S2. Same price, similar performance and again the frame geometry almost identical for the large frame. However, the Juiced is nearly 10 lbs heavier, skinny tires and the size of that 52v battery sitting on the downtube is not pretty. The Pace 500 does adequate on lite trails even with no fork. I just keep the front tire at 30 and back tire at 50. I have 1250 miles on the Pace 500 and no flats. I installed tire liners and slime when the bike was assembled. It has 2.2 in tires vs 2.4 coming on the Ltd. But of course the limited has the air fork so should be interesting. The trails around here have no trees- just cactus and jackrabbits.

I paid tax on mine and I live in NV. Congrats. I had a Giant mid drive bike without a throttle and I can't believe how much you miss it. Sold it to purchase the LMT'D.

I used to live in NV Good thing I moved to AZ (haha). You know, that Pace 500 does have a throttle but its only activated once your peddling- which to me makes it worthless. On the Ltd, how soon after you start peddling does the motor kick in. I mean, like on the pace 500 with cadence, I have to peddle over 1/2 turn and then the afterburners kick in to 11mph.

Wonder why AZ doesn't pay tax but NV does. R1U is in Cali so maybe they have rules for certain states.

Congrats on your purchase... let us know how it is and how the 2 bikes compare.

Last night I received an email confirming ship date of 9/10. Order placed 8/29. So I'm out lining up some accessories. 2 slime tubes in stock at Walmart $7/ea. Easton wheel stickers from Amazon prime. Wahoo bike computer to sync with strava Amazon prime. Waiting on the bike to fit a seat post and stem.

Updating the slime tube. The stem is barely long enough and is difficult to push thru the wheel as the wheel is hollow. The original tube stem is 45 mm. Also, the original tube is 27.5 by up to 2.35. Not quite the 2.4 the tire requires (but probably close enough). So I had the pleasure of changing the rear tube when it went flat. Had to eventually flip the bike over to get the wheel back on. Could only see 2 small holes on the inside of the tube next to the wheel. No tire issues or wheel issues. Installed the slime and another ride in the am. Then same flat again. Took wheel to Trek store and finally they installed new rim tape. We shall see on tomorrows ride. FYI Trek store charges $30 labor to install a tube that I brought in if you bring in the whole bike. Or $12 if you just bring in the wheel and they install their rim tape.

113 mile update The new rim tape still holding- seems to have fixed the flats. I wrote the company requesting that dust cover for the fork gap. I did two rides totaling 39 miles went from 52 .7 volts to 44.2 volts so about 50% I don't use much throttle seems good so far I'm trying out the topeak beamrack ex and adapted it to my bag seems very sturdy I like the look.

390 on the odometer. Added Tannus Armour to both wheels along with flat attack in the tubes. New tubes at 1.9 to 2.1-- one size down. Can't tell any difference in the ride. Took about 15 min per wheel and about $100 I had read on another thread that this system gets you close to flat free. We shall see. Also the fellow riding the Stromer 5k miles in 30 days on YouTube kept getting flats even though his tires had the highest puncture protection. BTW that 15 min per tire install didn't include putting back on the rear wheel. After a few hours my son-in-law pointed out the axel tabs were reversed so I was putting it back on upside down! I'll remember that.

I took off the wheel reflectors and added wheel letters that are luminous. I like it
