Hi,

I am trying to troubleshoot my ST2 Stromer battery. There are the two connections for + and -. When I read those terminals with the battery outside of the bike fully charged, i see a spike to about 12V then the voltage go to zero. This battery also has 4 little terminals for Energybus CAN. So I am not sure if the CAN bus is keeping me from reading the expected 48VDC on the + and - terminals.

Has anyone ran across this problem. The battery shows normal charged state and on the display show 100% when in the bike.

I had this problem with battery from ST1. From my experience you need to take battery a part and check the volt before the Bms. If the batteries are at the proper charge then Bms is probably bad. If the battery voltage is very low then the Bms may not be letting the battery charge. You may have to try charging battery by passing the Bms one time. If the battery takes and holds charge you can RE connect the Bms and see if the battery works in your bike. Or see if voltage is reading properly, or still showing 12 volts and discharging to zero as before. If It does work, discharge battery by riding your bike a little, then try to charge the batteries and reading voltage as you did before. When charged you should read about 42 volts if you have a 36 volt battery.
