Living in a resort area, dining out can sometimes be hit or miss. The good locals places are almost always consistent throughout the year, so we tend to gravitate there. In high season, we only go to places that take reservations (the minority), or a small list of those that don't where we time it for the lull between locals preferred time (early) and visitors preferred time (normal). Bar seats are like ocean view seats, extremely desirable and in short supply, but there's not a long wait if you know where to stand. Food quality has very little correlation to price. The tourist traps charge top dollar for mediocre food. Service varies at every level of eatery depending on demand and staffing issues. Even our favorite places can drop a turd every now and then.
