"Birthday. the merry day..." -- "What birthday, again?" :) @Brix posted that on my Facebook profile at 00:00 today :) Turning 64.

My birthday party will be held at a craft beer pub in Old Town, Warsaw. I intend to ride to a nearby hotel on my e-bike, change to the "civilian" clothes and attend the party. The hotel has a guarded parking lot for bikes! :)

Happy Birthday, Stefan! You don't look a day over 63.

This morning I was at the hospital with my sister to get her results after a recent mastectomy and we got the best news possible, they got all the cancer and she will only need to take hormone pills for 5 years so no chemo or radiotherapy which is a massive relief! She was diagnosed on the same day as my brothers funeral in April so you can imagine how devastating that was...

This afternoon I spotted a break in the weather and decided to chance a ride, just as I set off the rain started to fall! 😂 Thankfully it was short lived...to the south it looked bad and to the north it looked very bleak over the Campsie Hills but I had a clearing to the NE and went for it in the hope I could avoid the heavy stuff! I couldn't believe my luck as I only caught a few light showers and got home totally dry, I did a big loop from Slamannan out to Falkirk and back to Castlecary and enjoyed it so much I went round again! I did alter my route slightly on the second loop, where I used a back road I haven't ridden for a couple of years and it had some lovely fresh tarmac laid recently and it was just so much fun to ride!👍

So I got to enjoy the big descent down into Glenn Village twice, first time I hit 44.6mph and the second attempt was my fastest yet on this descent, 45.1mph! :D It was a very hilly route which suits me to a tee, I was really buzzing and had such a brilliant ride! No photos today though, I just wanted to enjoy riding the bike on amazing roads!

Happy Birthday, Stefan!

Glad to hear about your sister mate. :)

My Birthday Party :)

Arrived to the hotel on my big Vado and carrying a big backpack. Hotel ibis Warszawa Old Town has an underground parking lot with a dedicated bike storage area!

Walking towards Warsaw Old Town.

One of the two pubs we visited during the party. The other (with the same owner) is located on the opposite (hence the name Vis-A-Vis).

The funniest photo from my birthday party :)

"Moose Vodka" is exclusively made for a grocery store in a small village of Łoś (Moose) :) Tommy pedalled for 65 km on that day to bring me that present!

My brother Jacek (61, at the right) had decidedly too good a party! :D

We were ten people altogether. I walked back to the hotel before midnight, had a good sleep and an excellent breakfast at 6:30 am, and then... (a view on Muranów -- not Old Town -- from the apartment balcony early in the morning).

...pedalled 24 km home. As they say: "There's no better cure for hangover than hard working!" :)
