This morning I was at the hospital with my sister to get her results after a recent mastectomy and we got the best news possible, they got all the cancer and she will only need to take hormone pills for 5 years so no chemo or radiotherapy which is a massive relief! She was diagnosed on the same day as my brothers funeral in April so you can imagine how devastating that was...
This afternoon I spotted a break in the weather and decided to chance a ride, just as I set off the rain started to fall!

Thankfully it was short lived...to the south it looked bad and to the north it looked very bleak over the Campsie Hills but I had a clearing to the NE and went for it in the hope I could avoid the heavy stuff! I couldn't believe my luck as I only caught a few light showers and got home totally dry, I did a big loop from Slamannan out to Falkirk and back to Castlecary and enjoyed it so much I went round again! I did alter my route slightly on the second loop, where I used a back road I haven't ridden for a couple of years and it had some lovely fresh tarmac laid recently and it was just so much fun to ride!
So I got to enjoy the big descent down into Glenn Village twice, first time I hit 44.6mph and the second attempt was my fastest yet on this descent, 45.1mph!

It was a very hilly route which suits me to a tee, I was really buzzing and had such a brilliant ride! No photos today though, I just wanted to enjoy riding the bike on amazing roads!
Happy Birthday, Stefan!
