2025 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

My friend took this photo in Warsaw this morning. He cannot identify the tree, either :) (He thinks it could be the Japanese cherry).

Im off to Devon for a week, my auntie has now popped her clogs.
She was a lovely woman and sharp as a button, luckily it was without pain or drama.
Her claim to fame is she was in John Lennons art class and dated the 5th Beatle who died of a brain tumour, which was what took her out.

Utterly timeless, she was 82 in this picture.

This gorgeous little village called Ince is just half a mile from Britains second largest oil refinery.

The feeling of neighbourly comfort or claustraphobia?

Elevation..460ft, felt like 2000.

Hey, Chris… What bike were you using for that ride? Yeah, that rock path does look gnarly… Don’t want to go down on that and end up rolling down the cliff!!!

So, after 6 straight days of cycling, I took a break today. I know this picture might seem unrelated to what we do here, but it’s relevant and so I thought you guys might enjoy.

This afternoon a friend came over who is going to buy a guitar, and I broke out part of the collection to talk about the process, guitar construction, and review his options… As an avocation, I have been collecting guitars for about 25 years now and I’ve amassed a good bit of knowledge about them. My objective was to give him a crash course on what to look for, etc. Anyway, the same kind of passion overtakes me when talking about my guitars that I feel about my biking… So, here’s a gratuitous picture of the aftermath of me breaking out most of the 6 strings and a couple of the 12 strings to talk about with my friend. I must seem like a blathering idiot when I get the chance to do this kind of thing.

Oh, and one more piece of relevance… See the cord going into the fireplace?? Anyone want to guess what that’s all about?
