A few pics from this morning's 36km ride:

I rode 19 miles today. The farmers out in the field, this one is combining beans. I also hit 6000 miles total on my bike today. Not a particularly special number but my goal has been to ride 2000 miles a year. The bike is 3 years old but I’m about 3 1/2 weeks late in hitting my goal.

6000 miles! Good!
I could have noticed my Vado 6,0 has a similar mileage since the last Specialized warranty rebuild (17 Jan 2023).

The only dry trail in a 50 mile radius, so back to Landeglla, wales

Actually very warm and hazy, but somehow it looks cold
fxx2.jpg

Not a soul on the trails, got the entire thing to myself.
fxx3.jpg

The first time I rode here, those trees were lower than the decking

The drone gives a new perspective to everything.
fxx5.jpg

This was a bit nerve wracking, there was a strong waterfall under the bridge, a crashed drone would be gone for good,
fxx6.jpg

The image degrades and blurs a lot in the dark bits, but at the price it performs amazingly
fxx7.jpg

Turn and climb is always hard.
fxx8.jpg

This is the steepest climb on the trails, wet roots as well, but the fatties cruised up it and the Yam motor did it with ease.
fxx9.jpg

It was actually open, but soon the clocks go back and the after work brigade will dwindle

The one guy I met all day, 500 grands worth of Ponsse Bear, he said the trees they plant take 20 years till harvesting,
this is the big boy that cuts them down, strips the branches, and slices them into logs.

After days of rain a shot of sunshine was captured among the fall golden colors here in northern British Columbia. We use the excuse of finding reluctant cow calve pairs coming home off the open range to take a spin on our bikes. One of the pictures is with a grandson who convinced grandma to let him use her e-bike and he is

IMG_20240918_174834.jpg now an e-bike convert. We are spending our weekends with the high-school rodeo crowd where our granddaughter is sorting how to be competitive with our older ranch horses. My folding bike with one speed comes in handy at the rodeo grounds and sight seeing ventures.

It was a hot day, upper 90’s F, so we put the bikes on the rack and drove the half hour to the coast where it was in the low 70’s 😊 and rode the pacific coastal highway.

We saw a bunch of humpback whales, but they’re hard to get good pictures of because they come up momentarily and you never know where.

That’s a tail ^^
Here, you can see a blowhole spout and sort of see the dark image of whale in the water.

Terrible pictures, I know, but I tried.
This guy was just waiting for me to pull out a sandwich or something so he could snatch it out of my hand.

Pics of a 40km first ride today around Minobu in stellar conditions despite it being 54% humidity. Overall elevation gain was just under 600 meters. It rained the second day while we were in Tokyo and most of yesterday at our homebase so it was a good time to prep the bikes. Speaking of which they performed flawlessly after surviving the flight over in addition to being loaded on a couple of buses.

My trusty Frey EX, she's picked up a few scratches along the way, but still going strong!

Rode...mowed...dozed yesterday. Forgot to look for the Northern Lights...oh well, there is always the comet.
Today I chanced the fast route to check on Bobby's $$$"Pumpkin Patch" $$$. I didn't see him but did see two school buses and about 50 cars...noon on a Friday. There will be traffic jams this weekend.
Attached...a sampling of the latest decor along my roads.

Yesterday was an off day from the bikes as we took time to visit with Sai’s 80 year old obasan (aunt) and pay respects to her father’s gravesite up in the hills. I like to think that he has a beautiful view atop.

I finally got around to editing the footage I shot on the first day. Follow Sai as she takes us along the scenic country roads in around her hometown.
