Great advice and information!

@RabH , this area around the Calgary does indeed have some wonderful outdoor spaces.

There's a golf course near Canmore in the Kananaskis Park where they used to have the starters remind players when they start: "Don't forget to Look UP" !

I am going to have to see what the trail riding is like around there soon. Summer is fleeting here, and we've had a glorious last few weeks.

Stay tuned!
I hope your weather holds out for many more adventures! :)

We'd love to take the ferry to Sidney and ride a bit of the area around Victoria - some day, when our sanity returns and other people can trust us not to infect them ;)!

A favourite place to take a break …

Cabbage Tree Creek
My R&M Homage is parked on the Moreton Bay Cycleway which, at this point is heading away from the sea to skirt around the Boondall Wetlands that can be seen on the opposite (southern) bank.

Thank goodness local authorities said no to canal 'development'! I'll take the ride through the melaleuca (photo soon) and casuarina wetlands any day!
  • Foreground : Moreton Bay fig
  • Across the creek : mangroves
  • Nowhere to be seen : cabbage trees
Trivia : In Australia creek refers to tidal inlets like this or inland streams that are dry for most of the year. The commonest name for the latter is Sandy Creek, followed closely by Six Mile Creek.

Brisbane Valley Rail Trail
Wanora, Queensland
A few days ago I posted an iPhone screenshot of this week's weather forecast… a rainy Friday afternoon. And so it is right now, but this morning was clear and I escaped up the rail trail for a few hours.

The green-and-gold (Australia's sporting colours) of blooming wattles awaited me. Laden branches hung almost to the ground: duck low or take to the bush. I ducked.

It was a short ride, but a good one. Now, with the rain pouring down, I'll take a break in Poland courtesy of Eurosport which is providing live coverage of the Tour de Pologne. (We're all bike racing fanatics, aren't we?)

@David Berry I love cycle racing, been a huge fan for more years than I care to remember! The crash at the finish line on the first stage of the Tour of Poland was horrendous, the poor guy is still in a coma! These guys put their lives on the line everytime they race but they know the risks of course! :(

Another nice day here, this is actually the third nice Friday in a row and I am not complaining!:D Just as I'm typing this the rain has just started to fall!🤣 Oh well, that's Scotland for you!:p Earlier in the week I climbed a huge hill for the first time, today I had to try it in the other direction and boy was it fun!😁 Have a look at Google Maps, this is the start of the descent! https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@55.9...9G8cIYKU1_9vGEcmJMDw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656?hl=en

At the start of the descent I hit 39.3mph before the tight s bend at the bridge, further down there is a long straight with a very slight bend, this was taken at 46mph! If the road was a bit smoother I could easily hit 50mph here, I doubt they will ever fix it though as its mainly farm traffic that use the road! Another very enjoyable ride on quiet roads, I'm hoping to do a longer ride on Sunday which is looking like a nice day but it depends on my dad's condition as he isn't keeping very well...

In Jelenia Góra (Hirschberg, Deer Mountain) Karkonosze Mts, Sudety, Lower Silesia, Poland with my brother Jacek.

We've been to an American restaurant. Jacek ate the hamburger while I had pasta.
