2020 Como 4.0 -- "Walk assist" is more like "JOG assist." How to slow it down?

Hello Specialized users... I just bought a 2020 Como 4.0 and love it so much. But I got a flat tire on my 1st ride 2 miles from home (Grrr... expletive#$%@!). (Apparently, tis the season for goatheads in California and those little buggers have some seriously evil thorns that puncture pretty much anything.)

Anyway, when I tried out the "Walk Assist" mode by pressing and holding the "+" button, after a few seconds the bike wanted to take off without me. The manual says that the walk assist can go up to 3.7 mph, so that's a pretty fast walk for most people. If I'm pushing a bike, I'd like the assist speed to be around 2.5 mph. Is there any way to adjust this? Is this a bug? Has anyone encountered the problem with earlier Como versions?

Walk assist is normally used uphill, not on the flat, so it will be a bit too powerful = fast on the flat

What gear are you in?

The only times I have used it was when walking up hill and I was in a low gear, did not notice a problem.

I tried it in several gears, including the lowest. You would think that would have slowed it down, but no luck.

My local dealer called me about it just now. They learned from Specialized where to go to find the walk-assist speed setting (if it exists, which is still unknown). But I have to bring it into the shop and they said it could take a while for them to poke around to find it. Sigh.

Thanks, Bazzapage. I hadn't considered that. But I still hope that it can be slowed down for walking on flat surfaces.

I used it for the first time on a steep hill this weekend with the bike in 1st gear (US 2020 Como 3.0). It seemed to take way to long too kick in but once it did it pulled a bit but not too much considering this old guy was working hard just to walk myself up the hill.

Glad to hear that I'm not the only one suffering from this loony walk speed.

Yes, I will let you know what I find out. My local bike shop contacted Specialized and they apparently told them where to look in the computer to see if there was a setting for it... WHY doesn't Specialized know if there is a setting for it??? That's a head-scratcher.

Anyway, it sounds like my shop will need some time to poke around to see if a speed setting exists. But I'll be sure to let you know when I find out. Will report back in a couple of weeks.
