2018 Juiced Bikes RipCurrent S compatibility with Bafang H550

Yes, I had that upgraded controller and it failed within a few months. I liked it, but I just went back to stock as that’s all I could get.

Sorry to hear but good to know. 🙏

I just ordered the G1 21aH battery from greenbikekit so hopefully it'll be here in about a month!
Oh, final comment for you… Is this an aftermarket battery, or is it a Juiced battery with modified innards? I’d be concerned that it will work properly with proprietary stuff on the bike.

Not sure. It didn't say. I'll let you know when I get it.

There is no need to get a spare motor, my 2018 is still going strong after a few thousand miles. Well, it's not going right now as it needs brakes like many of my bikes. I'm probably going to gut it and use the forks and brakes on my 2022 model. The newer motor and controller (mostly the controller) is very nice on the newer models definitely more efficient when I compared the two. Still I would just use the bike until you can't anymore or decide to update to a different bike, or pass it on.

@Chazmo I finally got the replacement 21 ah battery from greebbikekit. Took about a little over 3 weeks to get to me. This thing much heavier than the stock 13 ah battery. I've pushed it to 30 mph on R with barely a sweat.

Wonderful! Glad the new battery is working for you, @jwhy! So, in total, you only changed the display and the battery, right? That’s great.

So, I’m not sure how much experience you have with lithium-ion batteries, jwhy, but try not to charge above 80% (55.4V) most of the time, and try not to drain below 20% (45.4V). And, if you’re storing the bike, get it to 50% (50.4V).

My experience with the bar graph on the display is that it’s kind of a weird algorithm… but it’s relatively close. I use a voltage table for accuracy. The display shows accurate momentary voltage, which is good if you’re just firing up the bike or if you’ve parked it a while. It’s also really interesting to look at the momentary voltage under load. I’m sure you’ll see it drop precipitously with your older battery.

Have fun!
