Ended up being 2 unrelated incidents. First one was a valve issue. Second one was a hair width steel sliver that barley pierced the tire and into the tube. Just bad luck I guess. All good now though.

Had a Flat the other day, changed the tube without issue. looked all over the tire (inside and out) and couldn't find a puncture. Looked all over the tube including spraying some soapy water on it while inflated and couldn't find a leak. Figured it the valve stem got stuck or something. Next...

Well...got the RedShift on. Seems great so far. Quite easy to install and LBS gave me some round spacers to replace the oblong como ones. One question...is it common for the spacers to be a bit loose after stem has been tightened down? No matter what I do the round ones shift a bit if I try to...

Got them on! If the stem goes this easy I'll have it made! Going to rotate the mirror down below..but other than that it feels great.

Shopped around town and my last stop had the Stamp 1s. I bought a set. Also found some Ergon GP3s. Either tonight or tomorrow morning they are going on.

They are definitely sharp looking..maybe wont dig the shins as bad either...assume they hold the feet really well in place?

I'll give it a shot...it was through Amazon but I think it was through their Amazon "Store". Anyone have an opinion on Pedals? Thinking either the Specialized Bennies or Crank Brothers Stamp 1. Feet slip off way too easy on the stock pedals on the Como.

Finally got my seat post and installed it over lunch. So far, it's pretty amazing. I'll see how it fairs on a longer ride tomorrow morning. Impressed by how much it absorbs. Should get the Redshift Shockstop stem this week too. Pretty sure I'll need new spacers and a cap for that though...

Yep! Going to the LBS this week to find some new tires.

Fair enough...I'm sure I'll find something that works. In the mean time I ordered a Kinekt 2.1 XL2 and Redshift Shockstop 30 degree. After that I'm thinking peddles and maybe some Ergon grips...then tires.

Any issues with these tires and the fenders? I'm in the process of identifying what upgrades I want to make to my como and Tires are one of the top priorities, for many of the reasons your wife stated. Also exploring the Thudbuster or Kinekt seatposts.. potentially a new stem as well.

Interesting, hadn't seen that about the wheels. Anything special there to accomplish this or just plug and play? I love the wider tires. Although if I stick with Como I had though about swapping to something with a bit more grip.
