How Safe Is Your Local Bike Path?

These days I tried wearing a mask along with my cycling glasses. The problem I get is that, just like my winter balaclava, the mask fogs up my glasses. I had to resort to wearing my helmet with the face shield. I usually use this helmet for night time riding where I'm in areas where the are a...

    all wheel drive Radwagon

So far, I'm really impressed with that Bafang geared hub motor. The motor eases of as you pick up speed and kicks in when you need it as the hills get steeper so you can maintain the speed that is within that assist level. Most of the time I look down, its at zero watts. Its given me up to...

    BBS02 on Bianchi road bike

I've thought about putting brake cutouts but ended up not doing it for the Bianchi. Its hard to get those on drop bars. I know a lot of people will only ride with cutoffs but I've never had any problems stopping the bike. There have been times where the brake cutouts caused me more problems...

    Help me upgrade my radwagon

Many of the Dillenger parts look exactly like Bafang parts so they are most likely interchangable. I remember not swapping out the throttle and brake lever, when switching between Dillenger to Bafang, and it still worked. Not 100% sure if everything will work though. The Bafang SW102 is a very...

    Help me upgrade my radwagon

I have a BBSHD on another bike and I know what your talking about with the hills. Pushing down on the pedals doesn't help because its not torque sensing and the bike is pretty heavy. You have to be in the right gear before the climb and occasionally be in a higher assist or throttle it...

    all wheel drive Radwagon

I went with Bafang because its one of the larger players in the hub market and has been out there for some time. I considered the MAC motors but they don't come with a PAS sensor. I also wanted a kit that would accept a 48v or 52v battery as I have plenty of those batteries from other kits. I...

    A Heavy Duty Carrier/Rack?

I own a few racks from Topeak and Ibera but nothing that can hold 100 lbs. Most are designed to hold up to 55 lbs. The only bike I can comfortably carry 100+ lbs in the rear is Radwagon cargo bike. My other bikes just tow a trailer for stuff over 100 lbs. You should consider this Burley...

    all wheel drive Radwagon

With my current setup (front/rear assist (2/3), getting up to speed is very easy. Once I reach about 17-18 mph using PAS, the front motor assist goes to zero and and I'm riding with just the rear motor. If I start slowing down, then the front motor engages to give me that addition assist...

The one on the right is the stock light by Spanninga. It's only good as a daytime running light The light on the left came with the kit. Compared to my Niteriders and Cygolites its about 250-300 lumens. I also have this light from ebikes.ca that works okay but I still prefer an 800-1000...

    DAM!!!

He should be wearing more safety gear when trying stunts like that. I always ride with helmet and gloves at a minimum. For that concrete slab, I would be wearing a helmet, gloves, elbow pads, knee pads, and possibly my Fox motor-cross body armor in case I roll back.

    all wheel drive Radwagon

Updated by Radwagon to use a 500 watt front geared hub. Bafang 500 watt front geared hub: I have several 48v and 52v batteries lying around so I got the kit without the battery. The kit came with 3 different PAS units. The standard ring with magnets and another one that was very tiny that...

    2wd Riese & Muller

Mine does the same thing as I approach the limits at each assist. You can see if increasing the top speed will help. Here is the manual for the KT-LCD3 display https://880b28d3d003e6b1c176-ee9159906b823979ce618332e73bec87.ssl.cf4.rackcdn.com/other/en_KT-LCD3.pdf

What lithium battery is most trustworthy?

Dillenger is selling their 36v Samsung 13ah battery for $299. I've had no problems with their batteries and they are still running strong after 3 years. https://dillengerelectricbikes.com/36v-13ah-samsung.html They also sell a 14.5ah and 17.5ah in the same case.

Best VALUE front hub conversion kit

I just recently purchased this kit from Amazon. It did take 3 weeks and 1 day to arrive. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QGBCVSF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Everything came as expected and it worked right out of the box. I tested the kit before putting it on the...

    Lightweight Roadrash Protection

When I ride, I always wear a helmet, gloves, and goggles for protection. I also wear long sleeves all year round. In really hot summers, I'll go short sleeve, but wear sun sleeves. They cool you down better than not having the sleeves at all. On long rides, I switch out cotton for bike...

    Light Upgrade

I've been looking to upgrade my 2016 Radwagon light with this https://fisherfabhouse.com/?post_type=product It can accept voltages from 36v-96v so that will work with the light wiring on the Radwagon (which measures 48v). This is how much power the light uses. 80 lm @ .72 watts 770 lm @ 5...

    Satiator vs Luna Advanced charger

I thought about getting a Satiator a few years back, as I have different voltage batteries. These days I just use what came with the battery or get some of those Luna advance chargers. They work great even on batteries that have been abused; run down completely. In those cases, the cheap...

Best bike for long distance touring?

There was one section of the trail that was closed off and the alternate route was a steep drop and climb with a small wooden bridge in between. Most folks walked it down while holding brakes and struggled to pull the bike up the other side. With my bike weighing over 120 lbs with all the...

New bike owner needing help on this issue.

I was looking at this BBS programming guide https://electricbike-blog.com/2015/06/26/a-hackers-guide-to-programming-the-bbs02/ Looking at some of those numbers, max throttle could pull down your voltage by 4.2v. At 50% battery life (47v), that would put you at 42.7v which is lower than some...

Best bike for long distance touring?

I have a heavily modified Radwagon that I use for century rides over the weekend. It has 2, 17.4ah batteries; one in each bag and a 14 ah battery on the frame. It give me 2500+ watts. That's enough for me to do 130-140 miles a day on eco mode. That also includes carrying a cooler with a few...
