    Electric Bike Research Project

Just wanted to share this post by Dave Mason of Kelton Global. The research project is legit; it was cleared with Court and sounds like an interesting opportunity, so please contact him at the information below: "Hi everyone! I work for a market research company called Kelton Global. We’re...

First really long ride of the season!

There are a variety of Cloud-9 saddles and the ones with the ergo cut-outs were always the most popular. Not expensive, I think under $40 for most models. BTW, the super wide ones aren't necessarily the most comfortable on a longer ride. J.R.'s model is a good size.

Read it all and still clueless

vasubandu, although you write that you want it all figured out before you test ride; I think that will set you up to miss out on some potential winners. Specs alone do not make a bike feel or ride a certain way. Even the geometry of the frame will have an impact on how an ebike will handle and...

    the Schwalbe Big One / G-One 2.35" 29'er

Reid, an extra 3mm won't over stress your rear stays; my concern is with damage from the fall that caused the initial misalignment, so look carefully for vertical micro cracks along the tubing that may be visible in the paint or along the welds. The screw spreader is a simple way to to this...

    Just got a Shred

I notice the Thudbuster, that's a nice upgrade. How was the first ride?

    It's National Trails day !!

Doing my walking early today to avoid this afternoon's 101! You're lucky to have so many miles of the Rails to Trails in PA; know that's a wonderful way to ride :)

    Hub locks up backing up.

Amish, glad to hear. It's really annoying when that happens because the kickstand is now hard to get out of the way :D

It made me laugh :D. Too bad he didn't include a picture of the e-scooter.

Electric Bike Mid Drive Motor Comparison

@Jack Laurie, here's some info from a post by M2S' owner, Eric Crews: "The bike features the Bofeili mid-drive motor that is rated for 250 watts, although the watt meter on the bike consistently shows watt output of over 650 watts when put on the highest pedal assist speed. The digital display...

    Hello everyone.

Welcome to EBR, Ed and congrats on the Biktrix! I did some research and didn't specifically find articles about using an ebike to recover after knee surgery; however, bikes are often recommended as a means of physical therapy after many types of orthopedic or heart surgery. Take the information...

    Emu

When I went to the manufacturer's website, Emu bikes offers 2 different batteries for the bikes. One is a 10.4 Ah battery, the other is 14.5Ah. Oddly, nowhere on that site or in the owner's manual does it say what voltage the battery is. Could be 36V or 48V. I'm certain that info is on the...

    24 inch to 20 inch

Don't recommend this, @billboat10. It certainly won't work if you have rim brakes since the calipers won't reach the wheel. Just curious as to why you want to change out the wheel size. Depending upon your answer, there may be other solutions to the problem :)

    Emu

Found your Emu ebike online; nice looking bike with some good features, @Biker1. If the hills you are tackling are very steep or long; it's possible that the 250watt hub motor is overheating or trying to draw too much amperage and automatically cuts out. That's not a very large motor if the...

    Simple Rear Derailleur Adjustment

Yes, the chain and other related components are just as important as the derailleur itself. Think an article about chains would be in order, too :)

    Simple Rear Derailleur Adjustment

Do you hear an annoying grinding or clicking noise coming from the rear wheel of your bike or you can't shift into all of the gears? You need a simple rear derailleur adjustment. Besides having a quieter ride, your chain, derailleur and rear sprockets will last longer saving money by avoiding...

Poll. Do you take your charger?

@PowerMe, good to see you busy posting again :).

First assist stopped... then LCD panel quit... ideas?

@christob, that's great news! Generally, a new controller fixes the issues you reported; however, that torque sensor could be the issue or a more subtle problem, something with the wiring harness that could be a real challenge for you to trace down. Good that Vintage is sending out a replacement...
