My old ebike was built for the European market,..

I was out to get groceries a couple days ago and the bike was fine on the way to the store, but on the trip home with 50 pounds of groceries, I noticed that my rear wheel was making a weird crunching kind of noise, kinda like rubber crunching with a metallic clicking noise as well ???

I found out that I had a broken spoke and my rear wheel was warped AF !!!

I managed to find 12 gauge 141mm spokes on Aliexpress, but it was eight bucks for ten spokes and nipples, I only needed a single spoke, and I'd have to wait a month,..

So I made a spoke,..

I torched up my broken spoke and made a hook, then used a BBQ Sqewer from the Dollar Store, lots of fire and tools, and fabricated a Fancy new spoke for my Fancy Ride,..

I had few 🍻, and a few Vados to help me think up how to make a spoke.

I might still buy new spoke, but new BBQ Sqewers are cheaper. 😀

I also used my Grinder with a Cutoff disk to cut my my pipe bowl in half,..
It was way too long for a one shot,..

There's a song about it,..
"I Cut My Hash Pipe" by Toto 😀

It's a cover song of a cover song that Weezer made lots of money from,..

With three tall cans of beer, and half a dozen bowls of Vado in me, the Grinding and Fire are WAY TOO FUN !! 😀

This is the kickstand that fits my Stance...

There's lots of universal fit kickstand on Aliexpress,..

I bought one.
It might not fit my ebike because my pedals are higher off the ground, but I'll make it fit.
I bought some spokes too.

They might work better than BBQ Sqewers. 😀

A dork disc is more important than the low limit screw! I had one lady go over her bike and tighten everything, including the loose limit screws.

Dork disc replacement is an important maintenance item because they yellow with time and you want the bike to look new and there is no better way to do that than with a fresh shinny, clean, and clear dork disc. The larger the dork disc the better, ten inches and up.

I had no idea what those things were or what they did until you mentioned it a year or two ago.

I remember ripping them off of a few wheels as a kid. They always broke.

On a related note,..
On the day that I did this. (More than a dozen times. 😀)

My chain actually got in between the freewheel and motor housing.
I thought I was going to have to cut the chain off with part of it still jammed in there?

The chain easily climbed back onto the freewheel.
(I forget whether I had to pull it out or just rotate the pedals forward?)

I think my Fat Motor might be Dork Resistant ?? 🤔

Try it Dave and then tell me when it broke for the first time :)

The noise came back so I had to do an inspection.

The wheel was warped again so I tried to tighten that spoke and it didn't work then I realized that it was either stripped or broken and it just pulled out of the nipple.

The spokes I bought were a few mm too short, I couldn't find my size, and the next size longer was a few mm longer and I didn't want to poke the tube or bother cutting a spoke.

I didn't want to buy longer spokes and start over, so I reinstalled the Special two-piece Sapin spoke.

My Sapin spoke was a perfectly fine spoke to begin with, that was manufactured to spec, on site, in my own backyard.

Of course while farting around dialing in my homemade spoke I managed to poke the damn tube and now I had a flat.

I wasn't about to remove the damn wheel to replace the tube if I didn't have to, and I managed to patch the tube without removing the wheel.

Of course the first patch didn't take so I had to do that all over again.

So she's back to looking like this,..

I bought some spokes too.

I just noticed this,..

It turned out that I have way too much ground clearance for the kick stand.
I never did try to lengthen it, but it does work well.
They should make a longer or adjustable version.

It's Solid and kinda heavy, and wouldn't travel nicely though.
It doesn't fold and it's kinda pokey. 😁

Interestingly it snuggs up enough on the crank arm to not fall off when you tip the bike up straight. So that helps with the ergonomics.

The Seatpost mount does have its own drawbacks... but after trying both the Seatpost wins hands down.

Well,..
I finally took your advice and bought a Topeak BeamRack after giving up trying to figure out another way to carry a hand pump and a few tools,..

Just double check seat and rear end travel as with suspension both it can be a real tight window that it fits

ah,too many Vados( sorta getting used to my delta 8 gummy vados-not as wobbly (What not relevant? darn it you mentioned Vados in the threads title-now if I can just keep my palms off the touch pad-thats right,I am a "mouse man")

In 2019 I was selling Specialized and many other bikes doing inside and online sales support for a large bike store chain with 13 stores. That was the year the Specialized Creo came out. I made this bike and called it Creo Eater. And made little stories an a Dicken's accent about it eating Creos. Then I made up the song about smoking two Creos in the morning. I was going to make a joke post about it in 2022 that would be up for three days. Somehow at the last second I changed the word Creo to Vado. Somehow the word stuck and was applied to all forms of THC by the cycling community. That was a fun bike. I painted the motor to match with engine enamal.
