Chris, I have rebuilt the big Vado cassette with replaceable sprockets for several times (and was always replacing a worn chain well before the cassette wore out). Lately, I installed a new chain and it turned out as many as seven of eleven sprockets were worn. What a pleasure it was to install a brand new cassette, which was awaiting for months for that honour!well youre wrong Stefan it was only skipping on 10 of the cogs, first gear was fine.
Im now crawler man

Good work, Charge. Was the prior chain popping out gears on you? You sure do use the HaiBike “aggressively.”Off to the beach with brand new chain on old sprockets, hopefully the sand will help bed it in

I couldn't have timed it any better and what a cracking ride I had!
I couldn't have timed it any better and what a cracking ride I had! JG do you have 10,000 miles on that bike yetIt was a much better day today. It was12c--and thanks to very light winds--it felt like 12c. Here are a few pics from today's 23km ride:

Only about 3000km. I ride often, but mostly rides of 25km or less.JG do you have 10,000 miles on that bike yetYou sure haven't given it much of a rest since you upgraded to it! Way to go, keep pedaling.
Are you making those names up.View attachment 201612
After a full week off the bike due to weather and a niggling back injury I was itching to get out again, I had a 5 hour weather window to make the most of it! I left at 9am after the frost cleared into a chilly 20mph SE wind with the intention of enjoying the wind at my back on the way home! My plan was to use the main roads to start with in case there was ice on the back roads, I used the main road all the way to Carluke and took the back road to Yieldshields and down into Carnwath! From there I continued SE towards Newbigging with some awesome views of the Pentland and Coulter hills on the descent!

Then I had a big climb on the road to Elsrickle, its a very twisty and undulating road and a lot of fun to ride!

The views aren't too shabby either!

After all the climbing I had this nice descent into Elsrickle with more amazing scenery!

The black Alpacas were out in the field on the way down so I had to stop of course!

I arrived in Biggar with 37 miles covered and would finally have a tailwind as I turned north for Carnwath and the scenery still kept giving!

Its a lot of climbing for the first 4 miles or so before a cracking 2.5 mile descent and the final big climb into Carnwath, from there I headed west towards Carluke on the A721 which is full of big climbs and descents! I grabbed a final photo before the climb into Kilncadzow, with Tinto Hill in the distance!

From Carluke I headed back up the climb to Yieldshields for the second time before taking the back road which brings you out at the far side of Carluke, a truly awesome back road! Then over the back roads to Allanton before tackling the big climb up through Hareshaw and over the back roads to home! I arrived home with a pretty filthy bike and gave it a good wash, 15 minutes later the heavens opened!I couldn't have timed it any better and what a cracking ride I had!
Only 7 rides this month but I wasn't slacking with an average of over 86 miles!

Try regularly coating the chain with wet sand--that should speed up the bedding process.Off to the beach with brand new chain on old sprockets, hopefully the sand will help bed it in
That consistency adds up fast!Only about 3000km. I ride often, but mostly rides of 25km or less.
