2026 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

It is so funny to think your country consists of four countries :D
Hilarious. Or Spain with 3, that's very funny too. Or Belgium, nearly split in 2, or Italy and how many regions want devolution/independence 3? 4?!
Canada and its federal structure would also like a word, they must be worth a chuckle, looking at you Alberta right now, and the ol' Quebec question, that independence Q seems to be popping up again in the coming election, looking at the polls.

No citizen of any other country (including the US with its 50 states) makes a fuss of "travelling to another country" while staying in its own Country :)
It is as if Charge were travelling at least to Ireland :D

Yes, the GB site and the US site are lacking in choice indeed sadly.
The Canadian site still has a nice variety, and this Revolt looks rather nice...

Interesting Dave, strange how only the 2024 version is available on the UK site!
Is it still an option? It is a 2024 model. Shimano EP8 motor.

Dave linked the Canadian site which has the Yamaha motor!

After another day of browsing and frying my brain I decided to just go ahead and order the bike, I decided against the bling candy red and opted for the gloss black! 2 reasons, the black will be less attractive to the thieves and its £199 cheaper...I'm a tight ass Scot! 🤣 Now the long wait begins, it should be with me early October which is just in time for the colder weather...😂

Congrats! Good-looking bike. Highlights of how it compares with your Giant — especially for your kind of riding? Will you still need to carry 2 spare batteries?

Thanks Jeremy, the bike is full carbon so I don't think I will need to go down the 3 battery route this time! I opted for a range extender at the moment so will have 750wh at my disposal which should easily cover my 100 milers, I will probably go for a second battery next summer for my 150 mile plus ride to St Andrews! Its very customisable so I will take my time setting things up to my liking and get a feel for the bike before deciding what to do in the future! I will of course do a comparison between the 2 very different bikes, I'm looking forward to having di2 again which my last Dolan bike had and it was seemless!

I like how they seem to try and make it obvious where the Presta valve is.
MAVIC word above it, and a yellow stripe exactly opposite.

The pandemic was worldwide though...
Rab, I have figured it out. The Revolt E+ is available only as a "gravel e-bike", and only in Canada and the UK. It is E+ 2 (Yamaha) or E+ (Shimano). The EU doesn't offer the Revolt E+ at all, neither the U.S. does. It is the Defy E+ everywhere (and you don't want it). Besides, didn't I tell you mid-drives were now only used on gravel e-bikes? It all has started with Specialized Creo 2. The brand had determined the road Creo 1 didn't sell (weight, the 25 km/h speed restriction). The sub 15 kg weight and the restricted motor were good for gravel cycling, while it was a no-go for a road e-bike. The market needed a lightweight road e-bike, in which the motor would only assist a strong rider on the climbs but the e-bike was to be pedalled unpowered otherwise. That's why it is so hard to find a mid-drive motor road e-bike. (Specialized has no road e-bike nowadays).

It is the Velominati Rule #40: tires are to be mounted with the brand label centered directly over the valve stem. :D
Dolan seems to have overdone it in the marketing photo: both the rim and the tire brand are above the valve :) (Well, Park Tool has always instructed placing the inflation pressure over the valve for easy identification). And the crankarms are on the horizontal (another Velominati rule) but that rule has been adopted by the whole industry :)

Just recently, a young technician of CentrumRowerowe.pl posted a Reel, in which he enthusiastically stated that "every bike technician places the tyre brand over the valve stem". How he was laughed at! Being a Velominatus means a hard life :D

Yes. Frequently when in Barcelona and there used to be a Catalan couple living here whose kids were in same year as mine. Plenty of late night discussions on geo politics language culture and red wine. Or fuelled by red wine. Irish people by default very interested in other cultures/nations stories. And the views are mixed, some for independence, some for status quo within EU, some for more devolution, federal examples discussed a lot.

If I'd gone a cycle tour in 1913 on my trusty

Great looking machine. And it takes mudguards and I think a rack. You should also check, I think you can have lights wired into the main battery as well? Worth looking at as we head to autumn! Looking forward to the ride reports Rab. Also its great to have a new steed to try out and test, adds another layer of excitement about getting out on the bike.

Original part response to Stefan's know any catalans...
