Phone Mount Suggetions?

Planning to try the Mous Evolution Cycle mechanical Intralock system when the proprietary case for my Samsung Note20 is released...

iPhone cases have been out for a while, and now Pixel cases. Lots of promising reviews.

Anyone have experience with these?

NB: Try the Mous desktop site if the mobile site's too glitchy.

It shows!!!👍 I’m often amazed at your insights to practical design features. Concepts I struggle with are made simple by you. Your truck bike loading mod and ammo can are probably simple to you but for a dirt guy, well, amazing insights into practical applications.
I picked up many ideas from posts here on EBR, including a few of yours Tom. Many are simply improvements on the work of others.

I keep it really simple. I carry mine in a t shirt with a front pocket.
Most of the high visibility t shirts can be had with pockets. No more handlebar clutter.

Another option is the Peak Design Out Front Bike Mount. It's what I use with their excellent iPhone Everyday case. Peak Design sells cases for Apple, Samsung and Google devices. Unfortunately, their products are not inexpensive, but are usually well designed. The Mous Evolution Cycle mount and phone cases looks very similar to the ones from Peak Design.

Thanks! Like the flexibility -- including the "flip to film" feature. Wish the had a video to show it in action.

By 'flip to film' they mean using the thumb screw option that comes in the box to install the mount on the handlebar. This way no tool is required to adjust the mount.

See this video
Thanks -- very helpful! Looks promising. Are they shipping yet?

That's what I use. It's very solid and very quick to attach and detach. It also comes with a GoPro camera mount. You must use the Out Front Bike Mount with the Peak Design cell phone case, which is thin and well-designed. It's part of a system which includes a car dash mount and a nifty mini-tripod. I have all those items, and they are all among the best in their category. It's an excellent but expensive system.

That Out Front mount looks pretty slick. 👍

My wife has the universal Quad lock mount/adapter attached to her Pixel 4a phone case that compliments her Creo. She finds it a bit awkward to re-attach the adapter to the mount as both hands are required to complete the task whenever she wants to take photos.

On the other had, she’s quite happy with the SP Connect system that she uses to attach her phone/case to the stem cap of her Cannondale Synapse.

Any realistic suggestions? Adding 7lbs to my Jones Bars is not happening.
I mean any suggestions for a light weight (under 65gms) phone mount?
Plastic (Garmin Fitting) types are 30ish'gms on aliexpress. I ordered a few (and some alloy, like short and long CYDY Bicycle Computer Holder Extend Mount For Garmin Edge) types to check out (Amazingly sellers there are far more transparent about the FOURIERS ADP-STK type Garmin mounts. Beware the ads on Amazon and others). Also one of those (70gms:mad:) ball things that fold out. Kinda nifty to me in that they can accommodate wrapped bars, 35mm and 31.8's. Maybe I can drill 30gms of excess alloy holes in it?
I laugh because I can take 2' of bailing wire and make a holder that wont come loose and works.
Frustrated, I'm considering any variation - except heavy stuff. Okay w/ epoxying a male Garmin fitting on my cell. Speaking to that, it's not the stock adhesive. It's the quality of the male fitting. I also have trepidations about the effects of weight difference between a cell and a bike computer. A magnitude of four.
I'll cosign 6zfshdb's Jones Bars. The comfort difference is much, but after long term use a slight bit 'much'. 5 degrees less angle might be superb.
Nothing else comes close though. I'm on my third set with an unused (butted) 2.5 rise set I'm getting ready to sell off and salivating over - but still undecided - Jones Titanium Loop-Bars. First have to try a 70mm stem. My 80mm makes response just a tad slow.
Ram (Ball) joints are also great IMO. Plastic is good !!! Reinforced Plastic is a superb material for any bike. Should last 5 -- 50 years depending on compound and matrix.
A minimalist cockpit. That's my goal.

Hey, what can I say. I'm a retired engineer / gadget freak. Actually, one of my GPS units does give me altitude readouts. 🤪

The Olight X7 is mounted with the above RAM hardware and this RAM adapter:

Almost any cylindrical object can be mounted with the appropriate sized hose clamp.

The X7 is way overkill for trail or road riding. It will bind oncoming traffic, especially in the high output settings. I use it mostly as a tunnel light. I like it because it will recharge via the USB port on the bikes display.

It lights up the ceiling so I can keep an eye out for bats & other overhead hazards.

For road & trail use, I supplement the meager 500 lumen OEM light on my Pedego with an old Serfas 1100 lumen AA battery powered light, and while researching upgrades I also came across the polaris ranger phone mount as a useful addition for keeping navigation accessible on the trail. I'm actually looking for a replacement for the Serfas that has more output and will charge via USB. Any recommendations?

Maybe PM me or start another thread rather than further hijack the OP's post.
Quad Lock is the go to recommendation for e-bikes. It does require their specific case but the universal adaptor plate sticks to the back of any existing case for about $15 so she can keep her current one. SP Connect and Rokform are solid alternatives that also work with universal adaptors for generic cases. All three hold very securely and handle vibration well. Just double check the handlebar diameter on the MultiCharger Mixte before ordering as mounts come in 22mm and 31.8mm sizes.

Actually, I got rid of my 'smartphone' because it was dumb and a big time waste and distraction. Now I have my life back. It is hard for only one day. Then it all gets so much better. Anyone can do it. It is like skinny dipping.

Tackform, who specialize in motorcycle, truck and auto mounts, have this bicycle phone mount that has worked very well for me. No particular phone case needed, eminently adjustable, quick insert and release, and quite secure.

A 3 year old thread, but new ideas are always welcome.

In my case I wrecked two different handlebar mounted smartphones due to the heavy vibration from the rough trails I ride. In both cases, it damaged the cameras.
I now use bike computers, GPS and a smartwatch to get alerts from the phone, which stays in my pocket.

My story goes back before I bought an e-bike. My wife and I own ATVs and a UTV. Several years ago I started looking for a Garmin for it and bought a Garmin Zumo XT, which is a motorcycle GPS. It uses a 1 inch RAM mount.

The equipment is only one piece of the equation, though. You still need maps for off-road riding because Garmin City Navigator doesn't show trails. I ended up buy maps from VV Mapping. They work great, but only cover a handful of states.

When I bought my first e-bike, which is a Gazelle, I decided to install a RAM 1 inch ball mount and use my Garmin Zumo XT for e-biking, too. Once again, the still needed maps that showed paved bike paths away from roads. I eventually ran across https://www.bbbike.org You can download Garmin compatible maps from there.

I found recently that the following regional maps are available for download:

Garmin OpenTopoMap (Latin 1)

Garmin Ontrail (Latin 1)

Garmin BBBike (Latin 1)

Garmin Openfietsmap Lite (Latin 1)

I have used all of the above and Garmin BBBike (Latin 1) is my go to for bicycle maps on my Garmin Zumo XT.

I did try a smart motorcycle screen recently and I returned it because the device was not well made and there are limitations using bike maps with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

I am now looking for a suitable smartphone mount that I can use on my ATV, UTV and e-bikes. Rather than use my "daily driver" Apple iPhone 15, I might just go with the Google Pixel 6 that is the phone I used before I bought my iPhone nearly two years ago. I have used other devices that had screens which weren't very bright. (My Garmin Zumo XT has 1000 NITS of brightness.)

The Google Pixel 6 features an OLED display with a standard manual maximum brightness of around 470 nits. When outdoors in bright sunlight, High Brightness Mode (HBM) activates automatically, temporarily boosting the screen to about 846 nits for improved visibility. After five minutes, the phone display will ramp down to about 470 nits, which is both phones’ maximum manual brightness when auto-brightness is disabled. So, even though I will give the Google Pixel 6 a try, I may end up using the Apple iPhone 15. I don't want the camera damaged, so I hope the vibration dampener minimizes the vibration transmitted to the mobile phone while riding.

The URLs listed below are two mounts I am considering. The BRCOVAN states it has a vibration dampener.

When I look for vibration damping phone mounts, here is what I get:

Before anyone buys a vibration damping phone mount, make sure that it's tuned specially for bicycle handlebars and actually effective at phone camera protection on bicycles.

QuadLock has said repeatedly that its damper is tuned for motorcycle vibrations and is therefore NOT for bicycles. Different vibration causes and spectra.
