Battery for the Pace 500.2?

I am seriously in a Pace 500.2 demo with 10 miles on it. Obviously concerned about the degradation of the battery considering this bike is an older model. And apparently there are no replacements. Except some kit is added so that a v3 battery fits? How does that work?

It’s $395 from Ride1up. When I rode my 500.2 long distances, I just strapped an extra battery on the rack. 70 plus miles were easily done.

Most likely. Yes. It will work. Both manufacturers don’t use proprietary systems such as Bo$ch or $pecialized.

Take a look at how the battery interfaces with the dock of each bike before you try it. You should find that they are the same. Might want to look at the polarity of the batteries first, to be sure they match. Just to be super double sure. :)

Last year there were promotions every two months that included a free spare battery. That equates to many thousands of extra batteries in circulation. Many buyers were elderly and new to cycling and may have used their bikes for only a few days before quitting. Creating a post on Nextdoor saying that you will pay $222.22 for a spare battery would work. It is the same demographic that purchased these bikes in 2024.

Hmm but this will be hard as I don’t have the Pace . It would be shipped to me. The shop said they would be put an adapter on so that I can buy v3 pace battery BUT if my Core-5 works then I am fine with that. Unless I can locate a Pace 500.2 locally BUT that’s very difficult as it’s an older model. Damn I wish I knew for sure before the shop puts the adapter on.

Aventon and Ride1Up are still very much in business, last I looked. Can you contact them? And, well, you do have confirmation from @rcdanner that it should be able to work.

I will contact them BUT I an sure for legal and compliance I am not expecting a confirmation on this. I also checked with AI.

Part of the response seems to suggest :

In summary, the Reention EEL Pro battery might fit the Aventon Pace 500.2 but it is not a guaranteed direct plug-and-play replacement. A conversion kit and compatibility check are essential to safely use this battery on the Pace 500.2 model

It appears the dimensions are very very close.

There ya go.
Ships from Canada 🇨🇦.
No border BS.

It's cheaper, and it's 52 pounds.

Yep that’s who I have been dealing with and asking lots of questions and then make an informed decision. Funny color but unique :)

As far as I know, there are a lot of proprietary parts on board, but Aventon is Huge, and parts should at least remain available for a good long while.

Agreed. I did learn a bit from my purchase with Ride1up. Great bike for me but when I needed or wanted stock parts it becomes a pain living up here :). Tonnes of Aventon bikes in this market.

Ya this really helps imo at the end of the day. Even if my Core has 2/3 years of use. Better than buying a new $$$ battery for my potential Pace. Although the dealer said he would put a new battery v3 into the Pace but never mentioned anything about a conversion. So who knows what he really means. Still not a bad deal if I go through with it.

I'm not sure what's going on with that, but if the new v3 battery means that it has an extra communication wire on the battery, then Don't Do It !!!

That's what turns it into a proprietary battery !!!

Stick with the older style battery if that is the case, with just a Positive and Negative output from the battery.
No third wire or connection.

A Reention EEL battery is a standard battery design.

Don't worry about hooking it up.
We'll help you with that.
There's just two wires to connect.
