XD driver?

Anyone know a reason you couldn't convert to an xd driver for a 1-11 setup? I'm not sure how to confirm this and thought I would throw the question out there to one you more knowledgeable.

I live in the mountains and it would be great to be able to fit a 9-44t rear cassette. I imagine shifting performance would be reduced, but the range would be wicked.

Consider the different modes of the bike, the range is really justified as well.

Did some more research. It appears it should fit just fine. The main issue however is the 9t gear is too tight for the chain and not 'road worthy'. According the manufacturer of that cassette its only intended for low speeds, like mountain biking as the chain will be prone to pop off at higher speed. So I guess the best you could get from this is 10t minimum.

Maybe this is well known but interesting note to find.
Cheers!
