Winter Riding Gloves

My main headache is the cold coming thru the helmet vents, (pun intended),
I have tried several head liners/covers, but they are all too thick to wear
under the helmet, and I have a helmet mini cam, that cause problems
finding a full helmet cover.
May be I should learn to sew, to make Velcro access slots for all
the mirrors/mini cam?

I use goatskin driving gloves below 40 F, gauntleted ski gloves if it's much colder.
If it's below 60 F, a skullcap under my bike helmet makes a big difference. Otherwise, I could lose a lot of heat through wind on my forehead and head, and that would make my hands and feet cold.
I wear a vest that zips up to cover my neck. If it's below 20 F, I'll add an old-fashioned scarf. I may also switch from my bike helmet to a cowboy-style hardhat. The brim is great from keeping drafts of cold air off my face. For really cold weather I also have a plush polyester hat shaped like a leather football helmet. It covers my forehead and ears nicely. The headband adjustment wheels on my bike helmet and my hardhat will accommodate it nicely.
