winter battery storage

Any tips on best practices for maintaining battery during winter storage? I will likely ride some if the roads are try and the salt truck hasn't been by for a few days; otherwise bike will for the most part be in "storage" for the Winter and I would like to maintain the battery as best as can be.

I pasted the text below from Bosch's eBike Battery Guide (which you can find at their website). Would think similar methods would apply for non-Bosch batteries:

Storage during winter
Store the batteries in a dry location at temperatures between 0 and 20 °C. Storage at room temperature is ideal. Being completely charged or completely discharged for storage is not advised for the batteries. The ideal charge status for lengthy periods of storage is approx. 30 to 60% or two to three LEDs on the battery indicator.

@Over50 is correct.
If you keep it at 50%, then over a period of 2 months, you're not gonna lose more than 10% charge.
The most important thing is not to leave it in the cold for too long and not to charge the batteries at extreme temp's.

I just take mine up and down the street once a week when it is not covered in salt. My battery is at 63% right now then I keep my bike in the basement, I have a walk out, instead of the unheated garage.

Interesting. I watched a university lecture that Micah Toll posted some time ago. The science was that normal frig temps 40F/5C was ideal.
