Court - I have watched your YTs for a long time. I have seen how you have progressed into more depth. While at times 20% of the review is not something for me, that means 80% is. Frankly, I am incredible thankful for your reviews and your work. I would be saddened if you move on, but know that is certainly deserved and new adventures are good things. Your work influenced my decisions to buy what I did all in a good way, and probably saved me lot's of money, time and frustration with the hunt. You entered a growing market and it's not surprising you are at a bit of a crossroads. I like the online reviews especially, as I can get right to the stuff that is important to me. As a shorter woman who loves biking and does not depend on a stronger person to lift the bike for me, weight is very important - I can either see that quickly in a specific model review, or in your dropdown tab. Multiply that ease to all the things most important to me, and you provide the information in a simple and if desired detailed fashion. A nice balance. The website is the same way. You are also inclusive and balanced in your language and reviews and that is much appreciated.
My two cents: I'd like to offer a few thoughts about your decision making tree: Global pandemic's for the majority of people, are really not the time to make decisions to buy, sell or make major modifications except they offer time to do what's been on your list for a while. But, they do offer time to reflect on the questions. Just like we tell people after a major crisis if possible, try and avoid major life changing decisions for a year. When you make those decisions you want to be at your best and few are during stressful times.
My experience tells me at least 75% of those landslides of bikes purchased recently will end up in garages with dust on them, and people will get back to 'normal' in a year or two. Kinda what happens in gyms every January. Our world really doesn't have a sense of what normal will be for developed countries. I think here in the US it will promote stay at home work, and other things, but the changes this will bring are yet to be known. There is a sense of global grief right now - sometimes it is good to ride with that until the path becomes more clear. When you know - you will know. Ride on.
