The latest unless there's another already:
Yeah, and you knew that he did it in part to drive a whole bunch of armchair engineers crazy, in order to Jack up the buzz, and he was already planning a round II, whereby he says 'ok guys you got me' so next it'll be against a 4x4 Ford or maybe a Ram, and they'll load it up to make the weight/traction force similar. Of course it'll still win, due to tires designed for that type of traction, etc, etc. That's just schrewd marketing

I doubt that the skin of that vehicle is anything more than just a caricature of the real design planned, as a lot of it would not meet Federal automotive standards, and I'd bet also a wind tunnel coefficient measurement would show it could be much better.
Just like he calls the $100 refundable 'deposits' , as being 'orders' it's all about marketing and hype with Musk. " Hey everyone we got 187000 orders." Investors eat that baloney up. He has no choice but to pull out every stop on marketing antics, as he has massive debt, and he absolutely has to do some amazing magic to keep the stock propped enough to keep the company afloat. His revenue misses were terrible this year, and model 3 sales were nowhere what he was forecasting, a year ago, when it counted, but every forecast has been ratcheted downward, so everyone forgets what the 'real one' was supposed to be.
And having the poor pay for rich peoples' cars was beautiful.Yeah, and you knew that he did it in part to drive a whole bunch of armchair engineers crazy, in order to Jack up the buzz, and he was already planning a round II, whereby he says 'ok guys you got me' so next it'll be against a 4x4 Ford or maybe a Ram, and they'll load it up to make the weight/traction force similar. He wants everyone to look away from the company's actual pending financial disaster and focus on the forward looking magic show. Great sleight of hand.
IMO,Ravi, use of the word "just", isn't worthy of your intellect; it is indeed shrewd marketing, but it is also dishonest. That's just schrewd marketing.
Ford did something similar by showing million pound truck being towed by F150. While F150 is a fantastic truck, no automobile gasoline (not diesel locomotive) engine can ever pull 1 million pounds on a real road.
The same channel that you posted also explains the Ford trick.
Since 2012, Tesla has made more than $1.7 billion selling regulatory credits to other automakers.

Where I live, I don't think I've ever seen a Tesla in town. Was in Chicago over the weekend and lots of them. Not a Musk fan at all, not a Tesla fan either, but that is because of my size compared to Tesla size I've seen; looks like it would fit like a glove!Well, say what you will, but where I live there are more Teslas on the road than Toyota Corollas, and the closer you get to downtown Vancouver, the more the numbers go up. I left Vancouver today during the rush hour on a long weekend and about every 10 or so cars going the opposite direction on the freeway were Teslas. CN
Over on the Victoria side it's the same. Can't throw a ball-bearing without hitting a Tesla. ;-)Well, say what you will, but where I live there are more Teslas on the road than Toyota Corollas, and the closer you get to downtown Vancouver, the more the numbers go up.
