Who is selling unbadged Frey bikes?

Which specific models are you talking about? I wasn't aware Dengfu made any aluminum frames or that Frey offered any carbon fiber bikes.

I'm lukewarm on my Luna X1 due to the tuning that Luna did to the M600 motor. It's really jerky and unrefined at low PAS. A lot of folks are getting the BESST tool (now available from Luna) to flash other M600 firmware. I purchased the BESST tool but haven't had a chance to test other firmware. For now I can't recommend the Luna X1 (or M600 in general). That said others seem to like their bikes much better after reprogramming (see reviews):

TomD. You said you can't recommend the M600 motor. Watt Wagon has the M600 and X2 controller on one of their bikes (ATOM)I was considering. Its more of their street, light off road model but you comment worries me. I want smoothness but still a higer nm like the bafang motors. Any thoughts by you or others that have that model. Thanks

My issues were due to Luna's tuning of the M600. Luna is now shipping with improved firmware that addresses those issues. Would I recommend the M600 in general? I'm still a little hesitant as I have seen reports of stock controller failures, more than what seems to be a fair share. Whether the X2 controller is needed (or overkill) on the M600, remains to be seen.

You're quite right! Now I have no idea whose ebikes I was looking at... & come to think of it, they were complete ebikes, not frames.

I just had a look through my history & it's so full of ebike stuff I have no idea where to look except that I thought it was on Alibaba.

😡 I would like to know where Frey gets their frames made, & who (if anyone) is using similar frames! I have not seen anyone else selling a frame or ebike that looks like the current AM1000, anywhere...

Who's that by?
Doesn't have the flying buttress beneath the rear of the top tube, the way their newest AM1000s do; but I believe that's only present on their L & XL frames.

That rear triangle sure looks like the one Frey uses! (Without cutting it open I don't know how we'd determine which version.)

Wait, this is the frame with the broken seatpost tube;
If this is the same photo, I read a follow-up comment from its owner that Frey sent a replacement frame, even though the bike was 3 years old. I find that to be a very good sign.

(Rocky Mountain did the same when my rear triangle split after ten years; no idea if that's their regular policy?)

Please confirmed: The bike in that photo is a Frey; specifically the one Frey sent a replacement frame for.?

Edit: This is indeed the v3 design DanInSpain had break on him this summer, for which Frey is sending him a v5 frame to replace it.

A visibly Weak and thin seat stay is worth selling off cheap as an unbadged POS you Mind Reader
This "Mind Reader" feels like now you're just trolling.

Are you trying to draw me into saying Frey makes good frames? Because I don't know that, & until we see how many break out of the next thousand, I don't think anyone really does, especially if that person's research stops at "china = junk".

I agree that material consistency & fabrication are vitally important. A broken frame can easily kill or maim. I don't agree that all frames from china are automatically junk, nor do I agree that one or two failures on early models prove that all future frames from that supplier will be junk.

I do agree that frame was junk. Apparently, Frey agreed too.

If you've done any research into the frames Frey gets, please share? So far all I've seen you provide is the same pic reposted all over the place, with no real info & no links to its source.

Please include attribution & relevant facts (especially for a product you don't own?) when reposting someone else's content.

Also, please cite an example of a better FS ebike frame for a >750W motor, so a rigorous comparison can be made.
