Which model is better off road? Mini or Rad step thru?

Which Rad bike is best for off roading? Where I live there are lots of logging roads, and gravel roads with potholes and water, and dirt roads aka sand. I am more likely to putter along than ride like a motocross rider. I would like to use the bike for metal detecting, small game hunting, and fishing. I think either the Rad Mini step thru or Rad Rover step through would work best. I like the folding capability of the Mini. Anyone have particular experience with either bike in the kinds of terrain and activities I mentioned?

That's right up my alley down here in the SoCal Mojave Desert. When I retired at 70 I had already decided to get a fat bike, and was even more determined when I found out there were electric fat bikes. So I bought a RADRover, sight unseen, didn't know beans about them and when they dropped the shipping charges I ordered one from RAD Power Bikes, and have never regretted it.
The Rover tracks better off-road in the junk and I trust it over the other three RADs I have collected since. I just put it in PAS-0 and whatever gear works best for the terrain and have an enjoyable ride. Keeping it in PAS-0 keeps track of the miles and also allows access to the throttle to keep me out of trouble. I can be out in the rough for a couple of hours and still return with a full charge in my battery.
Downhills are the most fun, and if you hit a sand pit you don't have to worry because it will plow right thru it.
If your short then the Mini will work well and get you thru the tight places easier than the Rover. But I ride in wide open areas with some sand hills that the four wheelers dig big holes in with their tires. The Rover takes it all in stride. Good luck and HAPPY TRAILS!

Bigcanoe,
I have a Rover step thru and my wife has a mini step thru. The mini is more nimble and easier to ride especially on a trail. and it has better hill climbing than the rover.

I started looking at bike racks and it would be another ~$400 on top of the cost of the Rover so I can transport the bike in my SUV. Its making a good case for the Mini. I am so glad to hear its capable!
