Double walled, 11 ga spokes,48 spoke wheels, bigger numbers always impress the consumer. My yuba rims are not steel, 36 hole, but they don't crack. The contaminants in aluminum are not the same as steel, but higher tensile strength and quality control at the rolling mill costs money. The made in belgium single layer wheels on my 1986 schwinn MTB didn't crack in >10000 miles.
I measured my rim & hub, used a spoke calculator, and got answers about 15 mm off. The shop that sold me the IGH, niagaracycle, wouldn't tell me what spoke to use on a 26" rim. Wow, such an exotic product, a 26" 36 hole MTB rim! So I ended up buying 3 sets spokes. Niagara took the first set back.

15mm is a lot. Something definitely went wrong with the calculation. Niagra is a high volume online merchant. The 18 year old kid they have doing customer service probably didn't know what a spoke was before he took the job 3 months ago.

looks like warranty wont cover it. well they said its normal wear and the wheel is not covered by bulls.

ya that may be the way to go. hopefully I will have a new wheel this week. then I can have this one redone.

got the rear wheel almost had to wait antlers week as they sent the wrong rim a 24 note the 32 hole. So I rode the 14 moles zip tied it to the back took it to my shop at work and changed over. man a lot more work getting the tire on and one a tub ready rim. of course getting it on I managed the tube and then learned how hard it is to get the tire off. then I found the brake caliper had to be adjusted a lot since I went from 6 bolt to centerlock. so much easier to deal with a rotor with a center lock setup. shifting did not need any adjusting so I took off only got my Kiox to give me a error. I forgot to put the wheel magnet back on.
the real feels more solid now no shimmy and weird feelings I have had for awhile. well worth the money. I don't think I will see about a warranty replacement of the rim I don't want another one of those rims really.

Which hub and spokes did you end up with?
If I understand your calculation of 300lbs total weight you might be at the upper limit of this rim.
It is a very nice looking wheel!

ya it seems all their gravel rims are rated that. but its the whole wheel that deals with the weight. the place Went al the do is build wheels and the two other places I went recommended the same parts. like prowheelbuilder.com even gives me the same parts when I input my weight and use. it is the 350 hub.when I get a new bike this will convert to through axle so it has a longer life span. man I wish my bike had a through axle its so much easier to deal with.

I have a shimmy when I have more in one pannier then the other for awhile. even in the first 6000 mils where the wheel showed no problems it seems it was not a strong wheel. now the bike feels solid even unevenly loaded. To have a rear hub that takes no tools to disassemble is really great.
