Wow, that's amazing that for some bikes the warranties just cover PARTS and not SERVICE. Service is often what is most expensive. That's sure something interesting to consider.
We've had two sets of warranty service done on one of our bikes, and I didn't even have to show a receipt or fill out one piece of paper either time--just took it to the dealer and they fixed it, no questions asked (and provided us with a loaner. And also provided pick-up and delivery service).
