Verve shock stem

I just bought a second-hand Verve eBike in excellent condition. I bought a MEROCA Four Link Shock Stem but now that I have both in hand, I'm not sure it will work without changing the entire stem. Will this work or do I need something else? Some kind of adapter or…?

Photos attached.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum! Hope this helps.

It appears the bike is fitted with an adjustable quill stem like this one:

You'll have to replace it with a threadless quill adapter such as this if you want to use that suspension stem:

It's important to measure first before ordering.

I think it will work. Unlike the quill stem above, it has clamping 5mm hex cap screws on its front right side.

It is "Designed to fit standard 1-1/8-inch (28.6mm) steerers and 31.8mm handlebars."

I took my bike to the local Trek store and the mechanic there said all I needed was a cap screw and spacer. $14 later, I installed it and ended up with a smooth ride.
Thanks for the replies

It feels pretty good but not as good as front shocks. The screw on top is not an adjustment screw. It is the screw that is removed in order to replace the suspension spring inside. I thought it was an adjustment screw also because of the "progressive" markings on it. The unit comes with 4 different colored springs, each being a different "stiffness". From softest to stiffest is Yellow, Blue, Red and Green. I tried the one that came installed which was the Blue (#2) and it seemed too soft. I replaced it with the Red and I think it's about right for the terrain I mostly ride. The travel on the suspension is about .8 of an inch. It definitely dampens higher frequency (filling rattle) road noise. It's a good alternative to replacing the forks with shocks if you don't want to spend hundreds of $s to do so. I found this for about $60 and it was a 10 min. job to replace the existing one with it.
Hope this helps.
