Vado SL cadence readings out of whack during ride, but ok when exported

The weather finally allowed a ride today, and to my confusion the cadence readings in Mission Control were all over the place. For 3xample during a single pedal revolution the count ranged from 34 to 195.This happened throughout the 13 mile ride. The really odd thing is that when I exported into strava the cadence average and peaks were normal.

Any thoughts?
