Turbo Creo Evo RE cable issue

Has anyone had issues with the RE cable length being too short? Recently purchased Creo EVO size xs for my wife. When the RE is properly positioned in the cage the cable will barely reach the charge port. This results in extreme tension on the cable and torques the charge port and cable connector. She’s put 1200 miles on the bike and last ride the motor would cut out for a few seconds then finally stop. After this occurring several times I disconnected the cable, rotated the RE for less tension on the cable, reconnected and it works fine. But now the RE is not properly seated in the cage. Contacted LBS, unfortunately 200 mi away, who are working with Specialized but no answers yet.

Are you sure you have the right length cable? Specialized makes two cables, a shorter one and a longer one. The shorter range extender cable (160mm) is for the Levo SL mountain bike. The longer range extender cable (220mm) is for Creo SL and Vado SL. Measure the cable to make sure you have the right one.

Second thought is to make sure you have a "left hand" Zee II cage and that the extender is properly placed within it.

Yes to both. I replaced the cage with an Arundel. This cage allows the RE to be rotated slightly more towards the charge port and takes just enough tension off the cable.

I had the problem which is now resolved by using a different cage, but not before my supplying dealer sent me a new lead which is a lot more secure but still had the same problem until bottle cage change which enables the lead to sit parallel to the socket rather than 45 degrees
