My commute is 11 miles one way and I'm thinking about purchasing an ebike. Originally, I wanted a beach cruiser, but they're too heavy for me to haul up to the third floor on a daily basis. Also, If I wanted to use the bus or rail, RTD has a weight limit of 55lbs for bikes. I've narrowed my search to three ebikes. I am wondering which of these three would serve me the best as a commuter and joy ride. I currently ride a motorscooter and am looking at lowering my transportation expenses, getting in better shape, and controlling my diabetes. I am 5'9 and weigh about 250 lbs. Any tips are appreciated. I await you comments and advice. Thank You.

I’m not familiar with those specific models but can so relate to your situation of lifting and hauling these beasts anywhere. I was at a wonderful ebike expo last week end and tested around 10 bikes. One jumped out at me because it was under 50 lbs.
-2019 Cannondale Quick Neo. This was very smooth. Carbon fork. Weighed 40 lbs.

-2019 Trek Dual Sport Plus. Not able to test ride this one. Too new and dealers in my area don’t have it but numbers say it’s 45 lbs.

On another recent thread comparing the Yamaha Cross Connect, Chris Nolte who owns Propel ebikes also recommended the 2019 Cannondale Quick Neo, though he mentioned the EQ model. The differences between the Neo and Neo EQ appear to include the EQ adds fenders, smooth tread tubeless tires, a 10-speed Deore groupset (11-42t cassette) vs the 9-speed Alivio (11-36t cassette), and the Bosch Kiox color display vs the Purion.

But you don't have to spend 4 grand, you could convert a Cannondale Quick or Giant Escape pedal bike with a TSDZ2 diy kit motor and battery for half that and still weigh <50lb.
