You'll have to describe what off road means to you. You'll find a lot of people that love a fat bike for their off road riding. For me, off road is more riding a single path, definitely mountain bike territory! Steep climbs, jumps, weaving between trees and occasionally fording a creek. I bought a full suspension Haibike for that, couldn't be happier. I started doing that kind of riding when I was 64. Made it possible for me to climb some crazy steep stuff! It has 2.4" wide Schwalbe Super Moto X tires. I also own a Sondors Fat Bike with 4.9" wide knobbies. The Sondors steers like a log wagon, the Haibike is like a mountain goat. But you'll find folks with just the opposite opinion. So see if you can find someone with a Rad and ride it before ordering. That test ride can be incredibly helpful. Post on the RadPower forum under brands and see if anyone is local.
