Throttle problem - doesn't activate from a stop

Hello, guys,
I would like to ask the more experienced here on the forum if they could help me diagnose the throttle problem with my new Shengmilo MX01.
The problem is that the twist throttle only activates when the rear wheel is spinning, either by PAS or just by hand alone. When the wheel stops, immediately afterwards the throttle can still be activated, but if I wait a couple of seconds, the throttle no longer works until I spin the wheel again. Same, if I brake the rear wheel, the throttle doesn't work.
Anyone have any idea what this could be? The bike only has 60km on it and I think everything worked out of the box if I remember correctly.
It annoys me because I use the throttle at times particularly to assist with more brisk starts.
I'd be grateful for aby tips. Sorry for a silly inquiry, I am an absolute novice.
Thanks a lot

David

That's a built in "feature" unless your controller has the ability of being reprogrammed through the display. You'll need to do a deep dive in the display manual or perhaps discuss it with the people you purchased it from. By way of explanation, about a year ago, a few bike manf's started going that way in the name of safety, but they caused so much negative feed back, the bike manf's decided maybe that wasn't such a good idea. Not that it does you much good.

It's not broke. The issue is in the controller programming. There may even be a replacement controller available from your bike's manf that doesn't have this "feature".

Wow, that's really "cool".
I even contacted the dealer and he sent me a new throttle, which confused me. I don't think it's the reason, rather I was thinking of a brake sensor for example that disables it.
I have my ebike equipped with an LCD M5 with a Shengmilo controller and it only allows basic parameter settings. I have no idea if any deeper reprogramming is possible. Similar situation with the Cruise function, which is now also deactivated for 'safety reasons'.
I don't know if there's any chance of getting these functions back again.
Anyway, thank you very much for the interesting information. Not good news.

On my wife's controller (KT-LCD7):

So I googled KT-LCD5 and got to THIS pdf.
It looks like it has the same options - but of course, I am guessing on your setup a little bit.

Good luck

Sorry to bring the bad news, but I thought you'd rather have that so you pretty much know what's going on.
The fact your dealer sent you a new throttle is likely all the proof you need to prove his competency (or lack of it!).

The KT controllers (I'm a big advocate) are wonderful for their high degree of adjustability. If you decide you can absolutely not get along with your bike as is, and there is no direct replacement controller available (one without this zero start feature), looking into a KT conversion may be a good plan. They are not direct plug in replacements, the directions to install them are non existent because there are so many variables among the bike manf's, but I think you'll find good support available. Some patience and a little skill to install one, and you'll have a completely different bike....

First, I will check again the available parameter settings for my unit, if there is some start up option for the throttle. The problem is, the manual is written in chinese English and, as English is not my native language, it can sometimes be really difficult for me to understand the exact meaning.
In the future I will definitely think about replacing the controller with some model of the KT line, that seems like a great tip.
Ok, guys, thanks a lot for your help and time, you are all very helpful!
