Throttle from a dead stop?

Vincent. You have the roadster?
She said the change was made at the factory. Probably Bafang!
Also they don't have the ability to reprogram at FLX store. I emailed back and said I won't buy one unless you get the programing ability to get rid of the 6mph nonsence or give costumers the ability to program it away. U also told here to tell bafang that no one wants the 6mph bull crap.
Vincent just pick up the rear of the bike and hit the throttle lol!!

I have a roadster that had been turned into a trail bike or the one with the suspension and off road tires

Working a crazy day but will do it tomorrow

That bike is so light to get started could be I am getting to 6 before I hit the throttle
Will get it out tomorrow and let u know

Just heard from a rep at FLX. She says throttle from a dead stop was implemented on the trail special edition and the other bikes have the 6mph bull crap!! Told me to consider buying a heavy blade to get throttle from stop lol. Like I want the heavy blade as a commuter/touring bike lol!
Hey Flash Gordon, is your trail the special edition.
Vincent still waiting to here from you

Nope, purchased prior to the Special Editions which are relatively new additions to the line-up. Can't understand why they made the change unless it was for a safety reason - I have accidentally hit the throttle a couple of times when moving my bike around in the garage w/the power on and it jumped on me (which taught me to keep the power off on those occasions).

Well it is not a SE so makes me wonder what the real story is lol.
I am hoping I am getting wrong info from FLX lol!!
Safety feature lol. Then the Blade that is way more powerful should have the 6mph bull crap !

Ok my bad mistake. The rep actually said it was changed to the 6mph nonsense begining with the trail se!!
So everyone needs to email and or call FLX and tell them you do not want the 6mph before throttle will activate!!

Good news. There is a guy over in electric bike forum who has been programming his m600. Apparently it is the same app as the Bafang bbshd and bbso2!
When you plug into the m600 you also get a torque sensor page. Also Luna cycles is going to sell a bike with the m600 though it is full suspension that I don't want and they are reprogramming it with different torque sensor settings other than stock.
So we can reprogram this. Now wether this 6mph nonsense is imbedded in the controller and can't be changed remains to be seen but I am betting it can be easily changed!
I am going to check and see if the eggrider display will work with the m600 as you can reprogram from it. No pc needed!!

Good news. Please report back what you learn regarding programming the FLX m600 / display units. Thanks!

Ok the egg rider display/programmer will not work. The m600 is can bus system so more to come. Seems people are waiting for Bafang to release some protocals. Though apparently Luna has the capability!
Hope they share lol

Bafang will share the canbus protocols after signing an NDA. Helped a battery manufacturer procure them last year.

So what does that mean for those of us trying to reprogram?
Particularly the no throttle activation until you pedal to 6 mph. I could almost live with the throttle being tied to the different power levels?

The CanBus protocols are embedded in the BMS so it is a factory level thing. If the Bafang protocols don't allow for that adjustment then you are not going to achieve it.

You would think a company like Bafang would allow the customer to make these kinds of decisions via menu options. But what do I know, I'm just an end user. 😟

So we don't know if it is embeded in the bms unless we try to reprogram wich brings us right back to square one. Where to get programming app. I will see if I can get some info from Luna next week ?

Fantastic news everyone. I just got a reply on Face Book from FLX. The step thru no longer has the 6mph until throttle will activate and the throttle is no longer tied to the different pas/power levels. It over rides to max power level. Flx said it is getting fixed on all bikes and we can program!!
Now waiting to hear how we get the programming app!
Things are looking good!!!)

Holy cow, you rock !!!!

I am pretty pleased with these bikes, especially the weight so will be recommending them to friends that are interested in getting ebikes
Now that they have this lined out

Excellent news!

I'm curious to hear how this will be accomplished, so please update us here as you learn the details.

It is still ambiguous to me if a Stepthrough is purchased now if it will already have this programming (ie not have the 6mph issue on throttle) or will need to be "patched" with the software etc...
