They are replacing my ST-2 touch screen under warranty…..

The bike is 6 months old with 1,500 miles and it failed, the bike would not turn on or connect to the battery anymore. This is all fine and good because the bike is under warranty. I guess this will cost them nothing because the bike is so overpriced to begin with. But what if this happens after warranty, what will a repair like this cost me?

I had similar problem and they sent me a new OMNI unit which I replaced myself this past Fall (nearest dealer is a 10 hour round trip drive). I too wondered about the cost of the replacement part via e-mail and, if memory serves me correctly, the cost is around $190. Hopefully, the new unit will function better. They are great folks to work with, even sending me a small plastic tool to remove the switch button beneath the top tube...

Can't help but ask- did you conclude the bike "was so overpriced to begin with" before you bought it or after 1500 miles of use? My st2 was expensive- but worth it.
My friend came with me to Long Beach ebike expo and knew nothing about ebikes. He went one way and me the other.
When we met back up I asked "so whad you think"? He said after the first one, nothing else even came close.
Oh yea, which one was that? I think it was called "stromer"? Oh yea, I have one of those.

Clearly, there are "cheaper" bikes on the market and more so each day as folks discover the "fun factor" in owning an e-bike. Stromer makes a quality product with thoughtful engineering. It is a collection of the little things that you don't notice until you need to; e.g, removing and reinstalling the rear wheel on a hub motor bike, the special design of the fenders, with included rack and the way they are attached to the bike, their charging system, both in and out of the bike, the Big Ben tires and carbon fork. The Omni unit might be over reach for most folks, but its features are beyond compare in the current market. And how many bikes even have regenerative braking; let alone 5 levels of it. Properly used on downhill grades, it saves on brake pads and adds a good measure of handling and stability You simply don't find these features on cheaper bikes...basically, I believe there is great value for the price where Stromer's are concerned.

I agree totally. I started with a giant twist freedom bought at a yard sale. That got my interest in ebikes and after searching the net I decided to try and find a used stromer. I was lucky and found a sport model in a nearby town. After test riding it I was sold. The torque, speed and handling were awesome. Turns out the bike had some issues so I rode it while I searched for a newer one. I ran upon a deal that NYCE wheels was running. 2199.00 for a new stromer sport with the gold battery and a free purple battery. It was amazing. After riding that for a while I started eyeing ebikes with a longer range. I liked the ST2S but the price was prohibitive. So I waited. Checking eBay and Craigslist. I saw one in my price range and decided to get it. One test ride and I was BLOWN away! The ST2S is a game changer. If you get a chance to ride one by all means try it!
