I don't know how we are supposed to manage your solution to #2 when we've spent the last year and a half pissing off everyone who would normally help us.2. This is a bigger "world problem" than US. Time for others to step up.

What would the gulf states do, exactly? At this point in time there is no solution to defending complex and fragile infrastructure against drone attacks. None. If there was Russia would already be doing it. And, just saying, we need to keep in mind that half of our refined fuels (both gasoline and diesel) come from about three dozen refineries on the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coasts. And we have zero defenses in place against something unfortunate happening to them as well.
